I've been playing empire for a while but I always played on medium settings and with medium troops. If I buy a better graphics card would my computer be able to handle battles with unit sizes of 300+ and at high quality? (like the Darthmod battles from ETW)

    Intel R Core(TM) quad CPU Q6660 2.4GHz
    4GB of RAM
    64 bit
using a NIVIDIA GeForce 9500GT atm
    Monitor Resolution 1680x1080

Thanks for any help, I'll provide extra information if necessary. Sorry if I made any mistakes

Depnding on monitor resolution. Your cpu will bottleneck it next.

I got this system, and graphics look terrible, so bad, I didn't even want to play the game.
You might need Bill Gates' computer to run this!

So I guess in order to fully enjoy NTW/ETW I'll have to construct an entirely new rig. Is it possible to play ETW/NTW at the highest settings with darth level unit sizes with 1000 CDN?

    Hi there.
No need to get an entire new rig. Try to see if you can lay your hands on a GeForce® 9800GT 1GB. That is one good card for ETW and NTW (how it runs S2TW I do not know, as I sold off mine) and it fits in your motherboard. I know they are out of mainstream sale, but some internet stores (or even specialized stores) still has some.

Hey, I have the exact same setup, except I am using a Dual Core. I am running with 2.5 x multiplier, so my Line infantry are 400 men each, and it runs fine on mine

It all depends on the monitor resolution you want to play at, how big units you wants, and how much eyecandy you you expect to be able to use. If you can get by on 1280 x 1024, medium units, and default settings, you have a good rig.

You want 1920 x 1080, the price goes up.
You want huge unit sizes, the price goes up.
You want to see chain fly through a mast, the price goes up.
You want to see the bodies and arrows left on the ground instead of disappearing, the price goes up.

If its a laptop you'll probably easier to get a new comp.

If not you could probably upgrade this for £120-140. The video card i got to upgrade mine cost around £100 and can play this on ultra without lag (single player anyway).

Heres the model, its a pc

Why does anyone make an internets clan? There is no material advantage to it. We get no money from it, no resources, nothing tangible at all. Perhaps it is a longing for identity, a sense of belonging, and shared values, the very things that have been destroyed by the scourge of liberal-capitalist individualism. Perhaps we all secretly desire to pwn peoples' faces and flame them afterwards. Perhaps a trollface.jpg lurks within all our hearts. Perhaps it is all of those things. It is possible to perceive similarities between the growth of clans and the post-war rise in football fan clubs, new age cults, and religious fundamentalism. As our leaders neglected collectivist concepts like "the nation" and encouraged capitalist individualism and atomistic self-interest, we looked to other forms of collective identity to fill the void. And that, perhaps, is what the TW community really is. A haven of camaraderie and collectivism in a self-interested, materialist and individualistic world.

Tbh, to upgrade would be a waste of money. Think new.

You can only put in 2gb ram. Enough for Vista but it will cause problems.
You do have a pcie x 16 slot for upgrade.
You only have a 250 watt power supply. You would need a new one.
You do this upgrade, the inside of the mid-tower will get hot. I have US version in the closet for proof.

    Be smart. Think new.

Hey, sorry for the necropost but I'm thinking about getting this graphics card, if anybody could recommend a cheaper one or one thats similar but better that would be amazing.

    http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...scrollFullInfo

Is this one able to run the game on top end settings with a good unit count? Also, could somebody explain what power supplies and the purpose of a green LED is? I'm struggling with all the technobabble I've been finding.

Thanks to all that helped me so far!

It also depends on your cpu, amount of ram, montitor resolution, power supply, eyecandy expectations.
