    Default Demo V1.1 Feedback

Do not post problems with installation and getting the game to work here! This is for feedback on the actual game itself...

Good work ya'll! I have some opinions, and since constructive criticism is the most helpful, I will start with that.

The modeling of Gondorian cavalry and infantry could be changed a little. The cavalry have almost cube-like shoulders and the shields on the infantry seem rather small. Also, no offense to anyone, but I think the voices sound very forced and cheesy. Perhaps enlisting the help of a deeper voiced man would produce something to fit the epic ambiance better. I know the mod isn't done yet, but when I command the cavalry to charge, they scream "FOR ROME!"

Other than that, great demo! Rohinian cavalry look extremely well done, as do Rohan's axe men. The Oliphant is damn good as well.

Gondorian -- I didn't look too hard at them but it just seemed like it from atop (probably because of the feathers)

The Mūmakil are really great! The skins/models are really really good as is the way they move and especially when they throw their enemies over half the battlefield. Great Job done!
With the other skins and models I am pretty content and there are - in my personal view - no more big problems to solve.
And I was very happy to see that Gondor has been strengthened a lot and is now a good challenge for Harad or the Dunlendings and does not turn to flee after the first seconds of combat. This makes the whole mod a lot more balanced, well done

In fact, the only thing I have to critize negatively is connected with sound.
    1) The music - Perhaps something is wrong with mine, as a friend does not have any music playing in the background at all. But anyways the collection of background music seems to me pretty ...strange... and in some parts simply not fitting. Some of the pre-battle-tracks are too peaceful, some of the battle-tracks are too much in a "60s-Robin-Hood"-style which both does not fit to Middle-Earth in my opinion. Only this asian "Tiger and Dragon"-like battle-music I really liked, especially for Harad.
Unfortunately I cannot tell you the exact names of the titles I mean, as I don't know where these backgroundmusic is "hidden" in the Rome-folder...
And also the music seems to start and stop randomly, sometimes right in the middle of a track...

2)The voices - I really appreciate your work and all that, but to be honest, the new voices, especially for Harad, sound simply awful. The recording quality is bad, and the voice itself simply does not fit to a soldier, no matter how hard the speaker tries to make the voice sound more "deep", "arabic" or whatever - in a matter of fact this rather makes the voice sound even worse.
My advise would be that you look for another speaker with a more fitting voice and while looking for him rather concentrate on the programming stuff. If a voice does not fit, it simply doesn't, no matter how hard you try...

But after all, keep up your good work, and I hope to see some new units in the next beta

I've downloaded theh demo and have been playing it for a while and it is great! I can't wait fro the campaign to come out. I tried crayon's campaign but it ctd on my computer so I will just have to wait for the offical campaign. My favourite faction is the "wtf" faction with the stick men bazookas, the groom, more stick men and the funny gondor guys.

This is one of teh best mods that I have played so keep at it guys!

Sorry for the little mix up but now that I know that there is a difference between the two mods I will definitely download this one!

I like the new demo, but there are few points I liked better in the previous version:
The Gondorian units have an extremely bright armour texture, I liked the slightly darker, duller version better. The same goes for the swords of the swordsmen/men-at-arms.
The new Harad units look pretty good, but what happened to the old Scarlet Shields with those spiked pauldrons?
I also experience the already mentioned issue with music stopping/changing mid-track, and the voices for Harad - well, we should keep in mind that this is a fan-made mod, done for free and by -excuse the expression for lack of a better term - amateurs who don“t have a sound studio and professional voice-actors at their beck and call.
All in all, it“s a lot of fun as it is.
Life is a sequence of missed opportunities

the backround menu music is from final fantasy 7, its a hybrid of the non boss battle tune

Great mod, The Rohan skins are Amazing, seriously I was in awe.

    General points -

Something from Vanilla is the Cavalry Speed, as a Horse Rider I know that it is impossible for a horse to move so fast given the models movement, I suggest you slow the cavalry and infantry down a tad.

    Does Rohan have Horsearchers?

Ah yes, and I cant play custom battles, I get a CDT the second it starts to load, I reinstalled and cant fix, any advice?
Well, if I, Belisarius, the Black Prince, and you all agree on something, I really don't think there can be any further discussion.

I have tried the demo, and it's great. But like someone's friend here, I cant hear any music.
And the sounds, it's really great that you're adding sounds to the units, but the Mūmakil voice is a bit weird. It sounds like Jabba the hut.

Thanks for the feedback. Many have had it work and so it is likely that an error has occurred through not following the instructions carefully. Sorry I cannot offer support as we are very busy right now - but wait a little while and you won't want to play the demo anymore...
