I believe the eagerly anticipated 3.0 is built for kingdoms. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

you can have both, make a fresh install of M2 1.3

copy it and paste it to another location, rename the main folder e.g. medieval total war BC

now you can upgrade the other version to kingdoms whilst keeping a 1.3 version for BC 2.02

ive installed BC2.2 in Kingdoms. nothing wrong in the game i noticed, except that there are a few CTDs here and there (which totally negates your enjoyment lol)

I've been playing BC on Kingdoms for years now. Control over AI reinforcements makes late-game battles so much less frustrating. Nary a crash to speak of.

There is an unofficial kingdoms version, but I noted differences. The AOR is alot stricter... plus no banners. And the banners look awesome so you don't want to be without them. Also ports do not give you a trade fleet... the merchants wharfs do, which cripples naval trade as many settlements start as towns and not cities. You can play non-kingdoms BC 2.02 on a kingdoms install but it causes issues... I had very slow end turns plus they mess with each others files (disabling banners). Anyway that is why I created two copies of medieval, one for BC and one for kingdoms and it's mods

As much as I know BC is not overwriting any files so there shouldnt be a problem . At least I didnt face any except before installing SS 6.4 .
Now I dont have zoom-ins when generals are killed.
