To be honest a setting like WW3 is going to be completely unrealistic no matter what reason you have for it. It would just be cool concept for a game.

Perhaps one with the Seven Years' War? That hasn't been done yet, not recently, at least.
when the union's inspiration through the worker's blood shall run,
there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun,
yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
but the union makes us strong.
I was thinking something like that. To be honest, 1642 has kinda encapsulated what is great about early modern period. Large land wars in Europe, while everyone scrambles for territory around the world. Only problem now I think is that about 8 battles are happening at once.
2 in the War of the Holy League
3 in the Torstenson War
1 in the Portgueuse-Spanish War
1 in Georgia
and I think soon I will have to drive off natives with my colonial militia.

what about one in the 1500`s or a early 1900`s(pre WW1 so you can make you own WW1 alliances and ending)
I have a proposal for one that I've been planning since I left for Lent:
Gentlemen, I give you Rise of the Mongols:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The game would start in 1200 AD and use the above map.
Playable factions (organized according to religion and geographic location) include:
Europe
Pagans: Lithuania and the Cuman Khanate
Orthodox Christians: The Byzantine Empire, Novgorod, Georgia, and Kievan Rus'
Catholic Christians: The Holy Roman Empire, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Hungary, Venice, and possibly the Teutonic Order (I'm considering having them emerge as a faction after some kind of historical event and then allowing whoever plays as either the HRE, Denmark, or Poland to switch to them)
The Middle East and North Africa
Orthodox Christians: Armenia and Axum (pre-reserved by Kaits)
Catholic Christians: The Crusader States
Muslims: The Seljuks of Rum, The Khwarezmian Shahdom, the Ayyubid Sultanate, and the Ghurid Sultanate
The Far East
Tengriists: The Mongols and the Kara Khitai Khanate
Buddhists/Chinese Religions: Jin China, Song China, Japan, and possibly Koryo (I don't know if they're worth including. They were kinda weak...)
There's a pretty good variety in terms of factions, so, everybody should be happy there. Also, I won't be releasing this IH until after 1642 is over. As I'm sure you guys know by now, bad things happen when we get two big IHs going.
I was thinking of somthing like this a 1500`s IH im to new to run one i think but it would be cool this would be the map

Actually, i'm sort of in the mood to try and host an IH. Does anyone have any good ideas?
