Problem with steam

hello

here is my problem

i m waiting for a high speed internet box but atm i m using "public" wifi internet with very low performances.

the main problem is i cannot use steam because it seems that this type of connection "block" entries like steam or torrent.

the case is everytime i launch napoleon, i cannot even pass the steam updating check, an error appears and i can't even try to use steam with "no internet connection" option because in that case i got an error too.

how am i suppose to play my games??? even if i play it solo and not online???

Check your security/firewall settings on your computer. I have to set mine manually for some programs, Empire being one. If that fails check with your security/firewall software maker. It may have a block on public access you have to deal with.

i think it is due to the public wifi settings, what can i do? how? what i need to do? sorry i m noob with this stuff
