Yes!
yes! (emphatic yes, not a shouting one)
my eternal thanks to the EB team for making R:TW such an epic game, and to TWC and all other modders for pushing the boundaries with each Total War title.
If well done, yes![]()
Well I better throw myself in here since it is I who is planning on doing this. I would really appreciate all tips on what the show should include and what we should focus on. Firstly it will be a good information center for many people when it comes to mods, updates on the game etc. Secondly it will not only be talk about Shogun 2 but also the other TW games and of course gaming in general. Music will also be present.
Bunny here has already volunteered to be a co-host but I hope that we can get more guests from the community.

Ideas for segments:
*Official CA related stuff - expansions, patches, balances, etc etc
*Your own opinions on the stuff above
*Third party related stuff - steam, mods etc etc. Not everyone runs mods so don't dwell too long on them
*Community - featured sites and forums, helps make S2 a more fun and enriching experience. Tell us where to find other players who might share same the same mindset as we. Also feature some 'forum post of the week' discussions so we know what's on the minds of shoggy players.
*Clan related stuff - not too much, you don't want to bore people not into that clanJust a who's who and whats going on. When Shoggy's competitive scene heats up, feature the more well known clans, their organisation, tactics, training, recruitment/selection, clan wars and take on the game.
*Multiplayer related stuff - same as above, report on bigger more public players in ladders and tournaments online and LAN.
*Multiplayer, the actual game - Depends on the meta game and how often this changes, but what's the popular/common army builds and tactics of this week etc etc.
*Campaign doctor - someone emails you a pickle they are in on SP and you and your crack team advise them how to get out of the hole and win the game, or if they need to bail. Advise where they went wrong and how to not go there again etc etc.
*Theorycraft - in map and battle, just discuss the metagame and help us noobs play better
*Listeners letters, shoutouts, questsions - esp for special guest segments.
Of course, you can't do it all. The best podcasts specialize. Music can be nice in a podcast - but its very easy to play stuff people don't like and also, it adds to the listening time, unless being a DJ is your 'thing' people will tune in especially to hear about things related to the game and music can just make them bored as they wait for it. Take that comment with a grain of salt - because it honestly depends on how you execute it. Some of my favourite casts have a lot of music in, but then again some shows I hate being spoonfed info inbetween songs... so.......
Thanks a lot for the ideas. I will write them down and you are spot on with the ideas. Its just what I had in mind for the show. I thought of making different segments where I we can easily remove some segments when do not have enough information.
You are correct with the music and since this (for the time being) will be a preplayed podcast and not a live one I think I can keep the music out. But I think we need a couple of songs so that we can have some diversity in the podcast. Could be boring if you have to listen to my voice for a long while.
If anyone want to volunteer for participating in this project please feel free. We need researcher firstly and if anyone have any knowledge about live podcasting, adding sounds directly from for example Skype will be welcomed with open arms.

You are spot on about music there - it really helps separate one segment from the others and just a little music and (tasteful) sound clips/fx can add remarkable production valueIt helps cleanse the aural palate for the listeners and gives them a few seconds to digest what's just been said. It does a lot to help the caster too - even in non live shows, wall to wall talking is very difficult. That's why I'm glad Bunny is getting in on it too. I think co-hosts/casting is a lot of fun, the extra person to bounce ideas off keeps energy up and you see some really good personal dynamics. Nearly all my favourite casts are duos or panels talking
But yes, it sounds like you've thought a lot of this out already and I can't wait to listen to your show. Go with your preferences on things, if you enjoy making it we'll enjoy listening <3
Definitely!

Yes, that would be nice.
I'm not sure, if a weekly update will be managable over a long time, because it would mean much effort editors. We want the podcast to be good, right?
Well, twice a month would be fine for me too.
This sounds like a great idea, and it actually motivated me to finally register a account here. I would love to contribute in one way or another. I don't have much experience with podcast, but I would gladly do research and send you topics etc. I wouldn't mind chiming in with my own thoughts either, but that is totally up to you.

I'd love to be a guest or help fill talk timeI'm an actor and have a great speaking voice you can listen to it in this review I just put together. good audio equipment, adobe production software and a lot of creative energy I want to throw at this game.
I use sound booth for my audio editing, which isn't great for multitrack editing but it's fairly competent.
spending all of my time in multiplayer, level 6 already. also have 500+ hours in empire and 150+ in Napoleon
I want to do some commentaries of online strategy pretty soon, but I want to do them well with purpose so I'm just playing lots and saving all my replays.
