i wasn't going to buy this earlier on i had the intention to wait till it was meagre price as Ca recently hasn't been in my good books.
i deliberately ignored all the hype and press release of this game and literately Friday night logged into steam see it did a little bit of video game play research and i brought it retailing at £29.99.
I started playing the campaign and i was really impressed with the campaign map even more impressed with the battle maps that had been created.
i began playing through eventually i did get frustrated as cai was dominating me on normal and i thought well im playing as harder faction probably best give it another go on another.
so gave it ago on the green one)cant remember the clan name) but anyway im getting some where most annoying thing is the cai seem persistent to wage war all the time i think maybe it's something to do with me being the smaller easier target im not sure but there's millions of other smaller tribes but cai seems dedicated to remove me.
i like the challenge though!
the game for release is brilliant no bugs found as of yet and im really beginning to fully immerse myself into the game, for me a good breeze of fresh air to breathe now.
CA is due credit but for me hasn't redeemed themselves properly why may you ask?
well i keep getting the same feeling im playing empire and napoleon total war but in a different skin and theme.
It doesn't surprise me saying that as the engine it's self is similar to empire and napoleon.
im not bashing CA, i think they have done a brilliant job bringing back to life the old shogun, but i honestly feel and can confirm in my heart perhaps shogun total war's completed engine should of been the one in which empire total war should of been like, with all these birds, animals cool scenery on the battle map and campaign map.
But guys if you are still sat on the fence about shogun don't get me wrong this is a brilliant game for release few bugs and great vanilla experience.
but lets be honest we can't be surprised as CA now on the third attempt using the same engine have hit it on the head and nailed it.![]()
