    Default Waterways evolution

I saw in another mod that they have navigable rivers. It was this one: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=367081

And in this one: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=178711 , you have some fat rivers that you might be able to squeeze a ship through.

Any chance of getting that in SS? What about a smaller boat that can sail on rivers and carry fewer troops?

The rivers look out of place, I'm wondering of the AI uses these or would they just be another player only thing.

Agreed. It's a really nice idea, but the thick rivers don't look nice at all. No idea if the AI will use it either.

The Rivers in the mod im working on are still beta, i think i have worked out a way for them to look less "ugly"...
Also, i am not using the same method that the Frontier mod is using....

The Hundred Years War mod was a really good example on how they work well, and also The Last Kingdom does a good job of it too.
But my aim is to make them work for a large mod!!!
    So we'll see what happens...

Anyway, we at Heiğinn Veğr understand about all the AI problems and how they cause all kinds of hassle for the computer (and the player in some circumstances..) and we are determined to make it work for our mod
Anyway, our mod isnt all of Europe, it doesnt include Africa and Middle East like other mods, only sicily upwards, so its not that bad.

Its not a Kingdoms mod, thats probly why you cant find it, your looking in the wrong section
Its in the normal Medieval Hosted Modifications section.

Given the scale of SS's campaign map, I don't think including "navigable" rivers, which are just narrow straits of ocean tile, is really a good idea.

I played a mod with rivers like that before. Not as awesome as you would think. There is only enough room for 1 ship at a time, ends up being a lot of bottlenecks, and it looks on the campaign map.

The only real thing you would need ships on a river are for faster troop movement. I could see this being usefull, but I think it would be more of a pain in the ass then a benefit.

AI can't utilize it and it's difficult to map it as it will generally increase the CTDs that is a scroll over map CTD due to the mis-balance of Rivers\Regions.

I like the idea and think it would add nice depth, i dont really care how it looks if it makes the game more fun and it seems accurate that troops should be able to be transported up rivers, also it irks me that i have to use a bridge to cross a river but my men can just swim across the irish sea. However if the A.i. cant use it im not sure how effective it would be.

So this would be a great thing to implement once CA releases the M2 code, yes?

I agree they do look ugly and a grand map.

But on a smaller scoped regional map they look fine and they can add a lot to gameplay (example: The Hundred Years War Mod).
