after installing whatever mod you want to use RLC with, check your EDU to see if there is still a Sherwood Archer unit, if not you will have to do some custom modding. The main thing you probably will have to do is remove at least one unit from the mod (search the Mod Workshop for how to remove a unit). Then you would need to manually put the Royal Envoy unit into the edu. Sorry I wish I had more time to help, but try to search how to add and remove units, once you get that down, then I can give you more direction to get RLC working.

Can anyone else confirm frequent crashes with the Komemnian roster mod + RLC?
Question: I installed this submod, and managed to capture a city with a royal court, it was the same size as mine, but i could not build it in my own city, plus in the captured city there was no unit to be recruited, also i cold not find the royal court in my building browser.
Hmm, i was playing venice(already some time ago) and captured Genoa, the city had a royal court in it, so i am guessing that i can only recruit from a royal court that is built in my original capital? I tried to make one in Venice, but i could not find the building, and seeing that it was there in Genoa, and both cities have about the same population i figured i could make one.
Was wondering the same, wouldn't wanna sound like a nagging boss, but, is there any progress on this.
I would say I have produced about 10 royal ladies and while I wasn't paying that close attention at the beginning (and since I've known what to look for I've only created one lady, who caused the crash during the enemy turn before she was supposed to appear) I'd say ~half of them worked and the others caused crashes, BUT reloading and trying again seemed to work. It's just like in my example above sometimes you fight long hard battles and then can't save as it's the enemy's turn and then crash. At this point I would only produce one if I can be sure the turn she's supposed to come out nothing is happening, and since right now everything is chaos (for no reason, despite never having started an offensive war, never doing anything but occupy, and not hiring one assassin everyone hates me and is declaring war so I'm fighting Fatimids, Sicily, Seljuks, Hungarians, Venice, and now Poland, all at once) that's not a something I can count on.
As for turn. I didn't check. but I assume it doesn't matter what turn #, it's just any turn a lady is about to be spit out.
I didn't really pay attention to their names, only their attributes, sorry.
I agree with Beaten Drum. I couldn't code my way out of a wet paper bag so thank you so much for taking your time without any recompense to try to find a solution for this problem.
EDIT: Also, the names look good. I'm surprised that Irene and Zoe (two well known empresses) aren't included but they have Ireni and Zoi so maybe those are just the correct Greek spelling as all the books on the Byzantines that I have read use latinized names. Theodora is another empress and is included. I would say if you just have to make it shorter just take some out at random

I just wanted to chime in and say I'm also having crashes, and attempting to find the solution.
I am actually playing as the Crusader States, and I went through a process to adjust RLC so I could use it.
I recruited multiple royal ladies before my first crash - I got to turn 45, and for the life of me couldn't figure out why I was crashing. I turned off fog of war and turned on AI movement, but the crash was happening right after my turn, when my last unit with green movement orders finished. And canceling all the move orders made it crash as soon as I ended the turn.
What I did next was tried removing all building/unit creations, and that did the trick. I went back again and built buildings only that turn, and I was able to continue my campaign normally for a while after that. I just got another crash at turn 52 this time, when I was trying to recruit a royal lady. Canceling the royal lady alone did the trick to let me advance. And as a test, after that turn I started another royal lady in my capital, and it worked fine - all the way through her creation. She even had a name this time.
To try and avoid the blank names, I had also gone through the name files and pared down the number of names, especially from Byzantium. Someone had mentioned in another post that if the name strings file is under 380k, the blanks turn up less - I got it down to 376, and I have gotten mostly named royal ladies, but still had a few blanks.
Very similar results across the board even from RLC's mod developers. The kicker is Byzantium. There is something going on there that I have been unable to figure out. I modified RLC to work for Scotland and have never had a crash on Royal Lady creation. I do get a blank name every once in a blue moon, but no crashes related to Royal Lady recruitment.
Tried changing out Byzantine names for English ones with very little luck. Going through now and seeing if there is some trigger that may be inadvertently affecting them.
Basically just have a list of theories and going through and testing each one to eliminate them hoping to find one that works.
I'm not as sure that Byzantium is the culprit. Besides anecdotally people saying it's Byzantium and they seem to get more crashes and blank names with them, is there any other evidence?
I actually originally went into modding it to allow me to use RLC with Crusader States, with the intention of copying Byzantium stuff. I just picked them randomly. I used the Papal States Princess model for the Crusader States Royal Ladies, I think the only thing from Byzantium that would be faction specific and re-used would be the event pic (data\ui\southern_european\eventpics). And looking, I actually don't have a ROYAL_LADY_JERUSALEM.tga eventpic in my folders (I would've had to create it of course). There also doesn't seem to be one for Sicily, maybe others. And all the royal lady eventpics are in southern_european, nowhere else, seems odd.
Also noticed something else. From the RLC.txt:

Also, I was getting crashes late last night, because I actually needed to recruit a royal lady. I went and modded them to create in 1 turn, so I could test faster, and it took me 3-4 crashes and finally, it recruited a lady and the campaign continued just fine.
Yes lots of testing. With small enough and custom .bin file, testing shows virtually no blank named ladies for several factions (England, France, HRE, Scotland, Norway, Spain). Same text files gives about 95% Byzantine ladies with blank names. I'm pretty sure Kiev Rus is also more susceptible to the bug.

Could you explain "needed to recruit"? My personal goal is to eliminate the crashes even if the fix doesn't fix the blank names as I personally can live with the blank names. I suspect however that they go hand in hand.
Could this Mod be made compatible with other mods, like Thera v3 for example?
