    Default Where are the Shogun2-mods?

    Hello!

I don`t want to sound demanding, but in NTW and other great TW-Games, there were at least on the release-day or one week after the release, already great mods available.. now there are only some blood and morale mods, but nothing visual or really gameplay tweaking around.

What is the reason for? Is the game hard to mod or are the people not interested?

(as i wrote before, i don`t want to sound demanding, but one of the reason i love the TW-games, is the GREAT community and the great modders with there hard work!)

The games after M2TW are much harder to mod, what I heard it is almost impossible to mod the maps of ETW,NTW and S2TW. That takes away a big part of the fun

Plus the new binary coding stuff or whatever it is, has now made it even more difficult than ETW/NTW I think, basically either modding tools or answered prayers will have to happen before any decent changes can be made.

Modding tools are taking a while to convert to teh new game. But even with then, we'll be limited to empire/napoleon levels of mods unless CA release some tools, which probably won't happen (at least for a while).

Maybe they want to play a little while ... not to mention the more they play first the better the mods will be. To start making radical changes before getting the full experience isn't a very good idea.

As of right now, the tools are very limited. Any real modding can only be done via hex-editing, and though most of the 'big modders' know how to do that, editing via hexing is just too tedious and time-consuming for the kinds of changes that would be being made.

Once the new PFM is up and running, you'll see mods.

Am I right in saying that the PFM conversion over to S2 shouldn't bee too difficult given that the file structure is similar to that of ETW/NTW?
According to this poll, 80%* of TGW fans agree that "The mod team is devilishly handsome" *as of 12/10 (its true )

I think so. Apparently there has been quite a bit of early success updating the old PFM to STW2. They already have a beta PFM that can extract but not edit. Once it can view and edit, there will be more mods.
