Addicted to multiplayer

Is it just me that addicted to the multiplayer on this game ? In previous total war games I'd finish at least 3 campaigns before i even touched multiplayer but on this one for some reason i jumped straight in and i've barely touched campaign. It probably didn't help that I've only been able to play multiplayer in napoleon and this but i think the campaign map to unlock stuff makes it more fun as theres a reason to fight the battles other than the league tables, which i never look at anyway (too depressing).

Yes, multiplayer in this game is quite immersing.

Unfortunately, matchmaking is not

I keep getting dropped into battles with level a billion (may be exaggerating slightly) players you have whole armies of equally high levels of veterans. On a similar notes how do these high level players get a bigger army than me despite the fact theirs is made entirely of high level vets.

For me the most addicting aspect of every total war game is the mutiplayer. Except in Rome, my first ever stab at total war, in which i played numerous campainges.
