    Default General loyalty... help!

So I am having real problems with loyalty on my generals.

What are some ways to boost loyalty, or get it back once they become treacherous ?

You can adopt them, or grant them a commission. I think marrying one into the family works too. Also, you should try the Shimazu clan since they have a bonus to loyalty as a trait. ^^

I've never had a general become unloyal. I think once I had to force him to commit sepukku. Just keep em close to the daimyo and he'll be fine. There are also tech trees options that give honor/loyalty.

You can also keep your Daimyo's honor high, which helps. Or have him followed around by a Metsuke if you can spare one.

It tends to keep them on the straight and narrow.

Failing that, like the others mentioned, adopting into the family, marrying a daughter to him, and offering him a commission works wonders as well.

I am sort of short of Generals now... I envy you.

Metsuke to bribe enemy generals when you see them walking around alone/with small stacks. 50% of my generals are from this method.

But then I get a general who is willing to join me for money.

I'd always question his loyalty then.

The annoying thing about this is you cant see who is being asked to commit suicide unless you memorise all of your generals names. Since they are all Japanese name i cant remember a single one, so when the window pops up i always say no after the first 2 times when i had me kill my best general (both of who had incorruptible loyalty and 5 stars)

    How?

I'm sure I read before that you could do this, but not how, and I can't work it out

I don't actually have any disloyal generals anyway, just want to do something a bit evil

There's no way to do this 'as you please'. When rumours spread about a general being disloyal and not honourable, you will be promted with the choice whether to give him another chance or let him commit Seppuku - a dialogue box at the start of a round.

My brother, commissioner of Warfare, who conquered nearly all of norther Japan, had this. I spared him because I needed him and next turn he deserted and took most of my main army with him.

If you tell a general's unit to disband, he will commit sepukku. Found this out the hard way
If you rep me, leave your name. I'll look more kindly on your future transgressions.

Is there a way to make other's general betray you in battlefield?
