Can't even play it anymore.

Steam says it's "Ready to play" so I launch it. I get to see the Steam pop-up appear and vanish saying "Preparing to launch Total War: SHOGUN 2..." in about 1 second, and then nothing happens. There's no new process in my task manager or hard drive grinding indicating thought. My execution is lost, but my other Steam games work. *sigh*

That fixed it. Thank you. Now I'm just having 3 other problems: 1) Avatar campaign either crashes the game in about 10 seconds, and 2) I get far enough to seek an opponent and I can't connect to anyone even though the chat is loaded, or 3) I become frozen in the "arranging" after finding an opponent, forcing me to terminate the process. The 1st occurs randomly but continuously when it does, while the latter 2 are a random affair, and all 3 make me start all over with that 40 second loading screen.

This game is pissing me off.

1) does the sp campaign crash? or just mp? and 2,3 havent played much mp as am waiting for the patch so can play it in all it's glory.

i guess your int connection is ok? you dont have things running in the backround eating up your bandwidth or some kind of firewall kicking in etc?

could just be that mp is crap atm.

Just the multiplayer crashes or gives me problems. I haven't had any holdups in any other menu or campaign. Battles have also run fine on "Ultra" with no crashes and little lag. Oh, and I have FiOS.
