Default Hyperboria... is really a fun place!

Hey guys, have you ever try to conquer Hyperboria? I have just occupied it three times during my Germany campaign and I can tell you it is really fun! You will meet a group of Amazon woman warrior over there who wear like Macedon or Greek general and ridding a chariot! Try to defeat them as they are really really hard core and the city is a ****. I finally control the city after I extermine the population three times! But I don't understand why Amazon warriors are overthere?

its an easter egg. They are neither historical nor necessary. The developers just put them in for fun. Glad you had a good time fighting with them though.

Ya, I especially love the Amazon warrior because they wear a really nice armour and Greek helment and ridding the chariot. Can I use them in any mod game?

Hmm. It is definately possible to train the amazon chariots. It basically involves going into the files and making it so that, say, a hippodrome or something, can train them. I just may have to get back to you on that one...

Women mercenaries hired by roman generals. That's great... At least they can kill everything.

BTW, Hyperboria was a greek name for a distant terrain in the north, and this legend about women fighters exists because sarmatian women in the north also fought with men in battles.

Mmm... is it? I only saw Scythia and Germany got female warriors, which makes me a bit disappoint...

where exactly on the map is this, ive never seen it before, but the fact they are hard units to kill makes me want to challenge them with my skills.

The town Themiskyra (yet another typo from CA - should be spelt Themiscyra) was located in Pontus on the Black Sea coast. The Greeks used the term Hyperborea to refer to several northerly locations, including Scandinavia, Britain, the territories North of Scythia, even Pontus itself. Mind you, this is probably because of different historical sources.

I've replaced the mythical Amazons with a Finnic tribe, I kept getting CTDs when I faced the Amazonian chariots way back in vanilla anyways

They are in the extreme north of the steppes, just near the scythian town of Campus Sarmatae. Type toggle_fow and you will see the whole map; look there. And try to send some troops to conquer the province, there are your amazon chariots.

is there any mod that makes them available to use in custom battles?
also, if i make the rebel faction playable by modding the descr_strat file, will the amazon chariots be there and have the possibility to use them in battle and possibly train them?

I don't think so as they are just one type of rebels.

I think the Amazon Chariots are one of the few things you will actually be able to train if you play as rebels...I remember seeing them trainable, looking at Jerusalem, while it was rebel...
