    Default Religion problem

I just conquered 2 christianity capitals and have religions problem. At first province i've build an budda temple and hired 2 monks. Turn after turn nothing happens(only uprisings). In second province religion changes turn after turn. So i decited to send one monk to this province and whole process of rereligion went faster for 0,5%. After that i sent second monk and process increased again for 0,5%. Why at 1 province are no any changes?

Have you looked at the town detail's religion section? It gives you the factors that are modifying religion in that province.

There is only 100% o christianity and no factors.

it's because you haven't destroyed the nanban trade port, it converts the population to christianity, which counters the effects of your monk/temple

Specialist monks help too. And higher-ended temples.

Destroy the nanban trade port (I always do). Then construct temples and put a monk to minister the settlement. I hate christians in this game since they eventually convert the whole populace and start rioting. Why can't you crazy religious freaks just live in peace and be happy?!

How much of a negative happiness bonus does different religion cause? I'm thinking of building a Naban trade port, but I'm worried I won't be able to hang onto my settlement. Also, can Christianity spread to multiple provinces without missionaries being present? And how do you convert to Christianity, and how big of a diplomatic penalty does that give you?

Same religion is +10 relations, diff religion is -10, so it's a -20 shift. It adds up, but it isn't game breaking in and of itself.

Given that Nanban ports are awesome for economy, if I converted to christianity I'd just build those all over the place and gain amazing trade.

Cathedrals are what will convert adjacent provinces.

You can only build one Nanban port.

Christianity's awesome, you master Chi arts so quickly with a bunch of churches. It's a bit of pain in the beginning when you first start the conversion, but once you get a bunch of rank 6 Missionaries fully specced to convert provinces, it gets very easy to prep provinces to at least 50% before you invade them.

The only real thing about Christianity vs buhddism is that if you've got one with a province of the other, the other will hate you. However, the foreign trade will automatically convert your territories into Christians from Shinto Bhuddism, this can get REALLY annoying if your neighbor has a Nanban Quarter because not only does that do a 3ish% conversion on their own territory, every adjacent territory is also getting a 3% conversion.

In my previous game I had a nanban port in my capitol with two monks and a high powered monestary to counteract the port, and I had to do somethign similar because the Sagara ALWAYS have a Nanban quarter on their island. Did let me snipe a few provinces out from under the Shino and Sagara because of Buddhist and Christian uprisings that succeeded.

Nanban ports do *not* convert neighbours. Only cathedrals do.

The Nanban QUARTER does. It's the upgraded port, and it converts adjacent provinces at 3%

I think the Otomo or Sagara build one (assuming they survive) in the starting place for the Otomo. Both campaigns where I've had provinces there they've had the Quarter. The second time I took the place and killed the quarter to prevent myself from getting constant grief from the conversion.

I've seen the Ai build a nanban quarter, it really pissed off the neighbors, a sneaky way of starting rebellions
