    Default Patch help

    Hi
I am getting Shogun on Monday. I would like to play straight away. I only have mobile broadband at home. So for most games I download patches at work and then install them at home. I have tried looking and can’t find any manual downloads.
This does not always work for games with steam so for football manager I choose not to use steam this time, but this is not an option with Shogun as far as I know.
    Any ideas
    Thanks
    Dan

You need to use Steam with Shogun2.

If you buy a DVD-ROM version of the game that would be the best way to go. You still need to sign into Steam and get the 'day 0 ' patch - as otherwise the game will not work. This patch is 570Mb.

Once you have Shogun 2 installed it's possible to play off-line. However, you need to be off-line to set Steam to off-line mode.

    Desktop or laptop?

If you have a laptop - the way may be to buy the disc install it from there and be in a free wi-fi place and download the game from there.

Can you go to someone's house with your PC to download using decent internet?

Unfortunately, you can't stop the 1st day patch and the other little patches, which sum up to over 1 GB. After these, you could set to not automatically update the game.

That is nice of them. over a GB of patches that have to be installed.

I don't mind online activation but this a bit much.

What speek to my neighbours that is just crazy, they might have guns!!!!

Well, it depends upon who your neighbours are. If they recognize you maybe they won't pull a gun.

Whenever I am living somewhere new (I sometimes work away from home for six months or more and rent a flat) I always try to say hello to my neighbours if I see them out and about. Clearly some people want to run away but there are always some nice responses. Make sure that you aren't drunk when you say hello - it helps......
