On the way home I heard over the radio that Denamrk is up for the chairmanship, I guess, of the UN security council. Does that seem strange to anyone else? Syria and Iran are about to go before the UN for the nuke and syrian backed assassination in lebanon. Then out of the blue Arabs get ****** over cartoons drawn and published how many months ago? Just to add one more clue, you can only protest in the mideast with the government's permission. Protests take place against the government's choosing. They are a dictatorship after all. Now with all this "outrage" does anyone really think a European country in Denmark's position is going to show any back bone. Nice play Iran, too bad we're to stupid at times to stop you.

It really was radical clerics that created the issue, so your statement about it being a response to Denmark's prominence in the UN seems very reasonable. The extent to Iran's and Syria's involvement is debatable, but the timing of the events (given that the cartoons were originally published weeks ago) provides a motive for clerics to instigate the rioting.

Not like the UN matters. China and Russia wont agree to do anything about Iran's nukes and will veto, so when when it comes time to stopping them, the USA and Israel will have to do the world's dirty work and use their air forces unilaterally to smoke Iran's stupid ass.
