Ah ok. Thanks.
Ah ok. Thanks.
Ftmch, thank you so much for this mod, before they looked like they belonged in medieval 2 way too shiny - now they look totally awesome, how they should be
Thank you again mate! +REP
WHY NOT TRY MY MODS BELOW - FOR EMPIRE & NAPOLEON

Thanks for this little mod, Ftmch! It counters nicely the rather overly bright colours of the soldiers for a more enjoyable visual experience. Worth rep from me.
Here's one of the results on my old comp (with compressed jpeg pic quality):

The Campaign units are still Shiny?(not the battle units) I see them Shiny
Yeah, they're still shiny (as far as I know, haven't had time to play the campaign much). There are several more textures I'd have to edit in order to change them, but I don't feel like it's very much needed, since that would increase the filesize more, and I don't really mind them looking shiny in the campaign map, after all, the campaign map is more of an.. artistic thing.
This is a must have mod. Thanks
This mod is helpful for the game immersion for me, definitely. But it also gets me wondering: Do the guys in CA never ever get someone to play this before they release it? I mean, come on!

Thank you for making this mod. I think tis mod is the most historically correct mod ever created for shogun 2. I, like you kind sir, also believes that the japanese people from long ago are not covered in lacquer.
Cheers.
Keep on hunting for shiny details to tone down. This is a most necessary mod.
You drunken spinning mule, you!
let me know if you see anything that shines too much that shouldn't shine, at least things that look.. plastic. I know there's still shine on the heads and hair, but I don't think it looks bad,
The amount of overly reflective surfaces, in many games, is way overdone these days.
Thank you for fixing this one!
Awesome, thanks for this!
This is one of my favourite mods so far. I like especially the result for the Takeda clan, they look cooler and more real now.
But all colours in armor are not benefitted equally well from this mod. The Oda belong to those worst off, IMO, and black armor tend to appear more grey than black, at least in certain light conditions. For the latter reason, I was wondering if it's possible to reduce the gloss for the armor to a lesser extent, say, to about 2/3 or 3/4 of the current degree and have that as an alternative for gamers?
What do you think, Ftmch?

Very good mod
Too bad it is not compatible with the variety mod
Qual ten la lenga, ten la clau que de sas cadenas lo desliura.
Must have mod indeed! I hated all those shiny models since day one and your project is the ultimate cure such a thing sir.
My humble rep goes to our blessed modder. Thank for your efforts and hardwork mate
So does this remove more gloss than the unit variety mod (v2) or is this now a defunct project?
Either way, thank you for your work.
