Avoiding the Dishonourable Coward Trait bug

Hi all,
I found this on the TW official site.
It is not confirmed by a CA staff member and may only be a theroy.
But perhaps it is a way to avoid getting that trait while we wait for them to fix it.

I figured out why we get dishonourable coward
I only just got it recently and I think I may have figured out why it happens. I'm sorry if this has already been posted up, but my time is pretty limited today and I am not able to check through the backlog of old forum posts.
Basically, the reason why we get it is because the game thinks that we've disconnected during a match (a bit obvious perhaps, but let me explain). After every matchmade battle, when you get to the results screen, you'll notice that your opponent has the "AI" computer screen over their name, therefore implying that they dropped and that the ai has taken over. This happens to me after ALL of my matchmade battles, so I know for a fact that my opponents haven't dropped, especially since I have talked with several of them just before the battle ended (both of us will say gg etc).
I am guessing that because the matchmade feature thinks that they have dropped, that it will also think that I have dropped too. This is why you get the dishonourable coward trait after a couple of battles in the matchmade.
You don't have a similar problem when you play the regular MP battles, outside of the matchmade feature. I fought 10-12 of these before I tried the matchmade feature without getting the 'dishonourable coward' trait. So, I think that basically if you want to avoid getting the trait that you probably should fight one regular battle for every matchmade battle that you try - that way the game doesn't think that you've dropped from a match in several consecutive games.

Well I have played severall matches online and never quit even one but I got this trait the same so now is this a bug? I 'd like to know how to get rid of this trait since I have never quitted and I am quyite pissed off to get this trait ...

I have it, my friend I play with has it, everyone we play against have it - right now, that trait carry no value at all in the online community. I'm just waiting for them to fix it so I can get rid of it again - I've won several battles in a row now and still have it, sadly.

Actually you can't be on the shogun ladder with that trait.

WHY did they even put this trait in as it was always a cast-iron certainty to annoy people ?
Have to say the bug makes it as bad as it can get and it will probably go down in gaming history (I mean insult and annoy EVERY multiplayer on your game........classic)

I think it is good to recognize quitters , but the game itself should recognize between a crash of the game and ra real quitting like alt+f4 pressing or exit the game pressing etc...

That is actually a rather frightening and scary thought.
Who knows what other traist will show up on my avatar over time ....

But more seriously :
Even if they fix this bug how are they ever going to discern quitters from connection losses?
We could still end up with 50% of all players having the bug without their ill doing....

Well im pretty sure, no matter how honourable we all like to pretend to be, there will always be that game/player that makes us rage quit.

Maybe shift+tab to us steam chat during a battle is considered as leaving the battle by the game. That would explain while most of people have it.

Got the trait and never did shift+tab during a battle. As a matter of fact, every single battle I did was through the matchmaking and my stats count them all as not finished.

I still think the network is searching deep into your soul and assigning you the trait ased on your real characteristics.

I think it happens if your general leaves the battle, you have to win almost every battle and your general have to stay on the battlefield to avoid this trait, i guess..
