    Default Archers in TATW 2.1

    So. How much of a mainstay are archers in this mod? In Stainless Steel, they could barely do any damage, in M2TW Vanilla, they were overpowered.

    Also, after reading some of the posts here, I've concluded the three best archers are Sindar/Eldar/Silvan Archers. I'm also just asking here, how good are Sindar Archers? In your opinion.

    Elven archers are a might on the battlefield. It`s perfectly viable to use mainly archers when playing as the elves.

    I think with most factions, archers are useful. Even the blind archers of Rohan are good enough.

    I have one problem only, namely that long range archers are too common. (I would restrict long range archery to elves and maybe human rangers)

    Amazing.
    Archers, in this mod, are very powerful. Overpowered? Maybe. But certainly not underpowered.

    Nice balance I woild say, a nice effective range and decent damage, with only my Gondorians.
    The vanilla M2 have epic Longbowmen but other archers.
    No side would have total domination, so a war can be fight.

    With high elves I usually have 60-70% archers in my team and usually I win while being outnumbered 2, 3, 4-1. So yeah archers are really good in the game but I think they should be. Otherwise the orcs would just steamroll through your infantry lines and you would be hopelessly slaughtered. i'd say it is in good balance.

    oh yeah while playing as the high elves i was taking out entire stacks wiht just 4 units of light archers 2 units of elven infantry and a general

    Archers are overpowered.Elven archers are a menace!
    This mod need some serious balancing.I hope rc/rr is included on the next patch.

    Actually, the Silvan Elves do have horse archers.

    Why elves should have weaker arcers?Arcers are good,just enemies are stupid.

    Archers, especially the elven ones, are just very powerfull in the world of Middle-Earth.

    A unit of my Éored horse archers kills 350-450 orcs each battle. That's like 2-4 units each (depending on if the enemy is using snaga or not).

    They may be overpowered if you take alone into account, but they also have a very high upkeep (270 gold, which is 20 higher than average generals), and orcs can have up to 5000 units in a full stack. Archers being overpowered is a game balancer.

    I just started a Silvan Elf campaign and there early archers own everything. Most of my army consists of archers... Some Pics...

    Yeah but then I get the good archers and ENTS, so I kill about 8 trolls before they reach me and then the spearmen mop up.

    archers are a vital component in fighting a battle, unless you have a full cavalry army. For defending cities they are doubly so... if you have standard archers and it rains they lose alot of power
