    Default AI Diplomacy in SPQR

    It has resulted in this.



    Note I removed all factions that I am directly at war with, and my own.

    I suppose it's partially explained by the fact that they're all allied together. I even saw 10 full Dacian stacks around a weakly-garrisoned Macedonian city. They walked right past.

    AI doesn't have diplomats, they where removed because they bribed cities which would release the super factions like greece taking over the world.

    Then how are they all allied if they have no diplomats? I have a screenshot that shows Greece and Macedon breaking their alliance and re-allying in the same turn.

    This is to allow the Roman player to FIGHT every single Faction in the game, instead of fighting only 1 super power. The mod is designed for the Roman Player.

    To those who do not believe, I can show my 6.4 map and sheet and obviously, most of the factions I did not see there. Greeks killed them. nomnom

    I had a game that did that. I took Gaul, Spain, and Carthage, then when I looked into Greece, there was like 20 full stacks. I got curious and toggled FOW, and presto, they owned from Italy to Israel to Egypt to Russia. Scripted diplomacy is there for a reason.

    Is there a way for the ai to have diplomats again ?

    As per above. SOmeone like Greeks will bribe settlement somewhere and then steamroll the entire map.

    Lol you say that now.... The Greeks would quite honestly send 7 full stacks each and every turn and attack you. Each new turn they could send 7 more. That's what happened to me. This isn't counting the 20 or more they will have just hanging around in their own land.

    Lmao, its not a script, its the super-faction fix in strat file. But that's what makes SPQR unique, it's taken al least 4 versions that Ive played to get it right. Putting diplomats back in wouldn't make any difference, even with force diplomacy, the next move the ai would go back to war with you if you was at war with their "super-faction".
    As for less stacks, that's a different issue, and can easily be modified by reducing the values of trade items in descr_sm_resources file, but again that's just not "SPQR", the whole point is you get time and money to create invasion forces and then invade en masse, ONE FACTION AT A TIME!
