Default Toho's Complete Map Overhaul *need beta testers*

well folks i have finally finished it, the SS 6.4 map has been completely changed, however this is not the final product but in order for me to release the full product i need some beta testers to test the new map for bugs, crashes and other whatnot.
so far these are the things yet to be added:
    • rebel held settlement garrisons
    • some faction settlement garrisons
    • some villages need to be upgraded in terms of economy and infrastructure
    • the left column of the minimap does not appear correctly and needs to be fixed

if you like this mod and deem it rep worthy please rep Gigantus also, without his help i would have never finished this mod.

if you have a suggestions or a solution to a bug you have found please leave it here.

here is how the map looks like:

    Installation instructions
    1) download this:http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PEQ5ADXN
    2) run SS6.4 setup and set the game as early era with any options selected EXCEPT watch towers(i am not sure if it would crash, activate at your own risk)
    3) make a back up of your original folders by following whats in my installation file
    4) copy and paste ,the mod folder you just downloaded, in the SS folder, then select "yes replace all conflicting files"
    5) run SS6.4 and enjoy (note: it might take a little longer than usual to start a campaign)

i am not sure if this is compatible with any other submods but if those submods do not change the folders in the mod folder(mine) then it should be fine.
also this mod is not save compatible(obviously)

    Future planned Changes
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    • a more challenging system of economy; some regions will produce mediocre levels of income while others(capital/important) produce more. the difference however will not be THAT huge
    • i will make it possible to use this mod in both early and late eras using the setup program of SS6.4
    • players and AI will be able to construct stone forts where they please however these forts are not permanent and will self-destruct if left unattended (i am still researching about this one but i am sure with some time and effort i will be able to make this one happen)
    • i will also be adding water based bridges that both land and water units can cross so this would compel the AI to come out of its island or to be assaulted on its island.
    • there will be 2 types of maps one like this that is very close to the vanilla SS 6.4 and the other with all the goodies i mentioned above; stone forts and water bridges. this is for people who want a less complicated game play.

Is it save game compatible? And what else are you planning on changing?

How exactly will those work? Will it be just a thin strip of land?

I think he means landbridges, you don't require landstrips to use them. Its like the gibralter one.

I've always felt that the Western provinces of Germany are far too blocky. Is it possible to make them more round and natural?
This is a little more research requiring, but I think it would be better if there were a few less provinces in Western Europe and a few more in Persia.

Ah so it would only work for settlements close to land already? So Ireland would be out of the question since it is farther away?

Nope, Ireland can work it needs to be a straight line though. So can dover and all the other likely ones as well.

The far northeast corner of Ireland touches Scotland anyway

i am actually, i will research about these things later, i am doing this following this plan and i will do the necessary research when i reach it, besides good old Gigantus is super helpful.

o and btw i figured out what the problem with the moors is, i probobly finish the mapping in couple of weeks and try to add all the other stuff when i can
i will probably create 2 versions, my own version with all the objectives i said above and one that has the same economy system as SS 6.4

Ah ok awesome. I think youll probably need atleast 2 of those bridges for every location you connect so the AI doesnt itself.

that depends if the files i have don't conflict with the factions and some other stuff that SS6.3 doesn't have or has then it should be fine.
