reinforcing army idle during sieges?

I've had this several times now, the reinforcing AI army just stands there doing nothing until the time runs out

Yes, I have encountered this as well. Probably a glitch.

Yh it happens to me aswell, mainly when the reinforcements are cavalry, they would circle the map border but not attack, eventually I would get forced to leaving the fort and attacking them directly, or choose to wait for time to end.

It sucks.

It doesn;t happen all the time, but the time it happens is when the AI vastly outnumbers me and could have won.

It's a free ticket out of a losing siege.

Yeah it's a bummer pretty much. Luckily I avoid those situations because I pay extremely close attention to my alliances and field army locations (to make up for my mediocre battle skills haha).
