Default Anyway to Mod files so Generals can recruit unlimited # of mercenaries?

I'm looking to do something along the lines of an Alexander the great style campaign, mostly for fun.

Now I know a full 20 unit army will only take me so far, as I'll have to garrison troops and what not and newly conquered settlements wont always have the required buildings to train troops.

So what I need, is a way to allow a General to recruit an unlimited number of mercenaries, given I have the money.

I'm not looking to cheat money wise. I'll only buy what I can afford, but the game doesn't seem to let me recruit mercenaries on a regular basis, even if I have the money for it, which I do.

Is there a file I can modify that won't limit the number of mercenary units I can buy, given I have the money for it?

Yes, I'm not at my M2TW computer right now, and my modding knowledge is slowly developing Alzheimer's, so I can't point you to the exact location and I might be remembering wrong but here goes. If you go to your game directory and search around in the folders, you should find a "campaign" folder or somesuch. Inside there's a folder called "imperial" and inside that one, IIRC (or maybe inside another folder inside that folder), there will be several files, one of which is called descr_mercenaries or something. Open with notepad and you can edit the mercenary recruitment pools and replenishment rates. But be warned, there's a lot of mercenaries to edit!

I found the file. I'm only playing as Poland though, so can I just edit the mercenary units listed for Poland instead of every single one for all the other factions to?

Also, how long are the replenishment rates? For example, the Mercenary Cogs have a replenishment rate of "0.02 - 0.10".

What do those numbers translate into turns wise?

(0.02+0.10)/2=0.06 per turn meaning replenish rate is approximately 16-17 turns.
