Install Issues

Have been playing RS II since it came out(and previous versions for years), last week started getting a CTD in my Greek campaign...so decided so reinstall everything. After several days of errors and muck ups, got it to work...but its not right. I'm getting the goofy Boris the Russian green tag line on screen and have to alt tab out to get game to work. My display also looks goofy, its dark and almost a bit hazy. I installed the game to Program Files(x86) but copied too Users\Public and unzipped/installed RS II files there. Also, my RTW folder doesn't look right, it has the faction folders, but also alot of individual lines of code. I have a feeling I should have kept old install and tried to figure out the CTD (I'm thinking it was Roxolani Noble Cavalry ). Any thoughts about this boris screen and my other issues?

I DL'd files from filefront(i.e. gamefront now...), pc is windows 7

Well i think u have the bloom effect toggled on (dark bloom) put it of in the launcher.
