First Timer
Hey All, I've been a huge total war fan for some time now but I'm bout to have my first go round with MTW2, let alone this mod. I've literally got thousands of hours of gameplay in on rome total war, monsly on mods, so im not a complete noob. I was wondering if anyone could give me some start up tips to help me out. I'm gonna start with england sunce i read on here already that there one of the easier factions, plus longbowmen rock! I mostly need help from the strategy map standpoint, I think I should be good on battles. Just a lil advice on the difference bewtween castles an cities an how to go about getting the elite units would greatly help. Or just point me to some faq already on here. I read one on merchants alreday that was really informative, even if I really have no clue yet as to waht it meant
. Thx in advance. Right now I'm thinging keep coastal cities as citites for the money an make my inland cities the troop builders. Is thar over siplified? Let me know.

Re: First Timer
As England you just have to capture the Brritish Isles early on and then your set for the game. You will then have a unassailable position(besides the Spanish and Norwegions) and loads of money.

Re: First Timer
If you are playing 6.4 you should probably keep your largest castles as castles for awhile and focus on growing your cities. Eventually you can convert some cities to larger castles and then convert the smaller castles into cities for more income. Other than puzzling over growth for your castles I doubt you'll have a big switch from RTW- although the infantry seem like they move sooo slowly in MTW2 eventually you get used to it. Watch out for heavy cavalry too- their charges seem devastating even when hitting the front of prepared spear units but there are many different ways to handle them. Read some AARs or use search on here. Have fun!

Re: First Timer
Cities mean more money and castles more and better units, usually in SS I leave the castles as they are 'cause it takes a lot more turns to recruit a unit again than in vanilla.
