    Default Not running at all!

I am not the most technically literate person so I need help!
I Have a Dell Inspiron 1545 and I bought Medieval 2 total war gold edition and it doesn't seem to be recognised in my disc drive. I can hear the laptop trying to find it but it just says "please insert a disc into drive D:." However when DVD's are in they are read without a problem. Can this be solved? Please say yes, I really want to play this game!

Any help would be much appreciated .

(Just realised this is in the wrong place my bad sure you guys can help me as well though )

    Moved.

    1. Log in as Administrator.
    2. Disable the UAC.
    3. Check the icon boxes "XP Compatible" and "Run as Administrator".
    4. Try to find the latest firmware drivers for the dvd-rom.

Right-click the icon, click preferences, click compatibility, and you should be there.

http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/1...-in-windows-7/ UAC and Total War are not friends.

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=397636 may also help.

I found out when Vista was released just because mine is the only account on the computer did not mean anything. I had to learn how to get it to be mine. When I upgraded to 7, I brought the knowledge with me.

You're welcome. Good luck with the new drive.
