Default Way to go back from Praetorians?

I love Praetorians, but I want my numbered legions back. Is there a way to downgrade?

I found Rome a city of bricks and left it a city of marble.

The info section says I need the Roman Fortress. Is that a level of the castle?

I found Rome a city of bricks and left it a city of marble.

You can get all the numbered legions out of Rome. For example, if you build a fortress in Emporia, Massalia, Arretium, Salonae and Messana, you have access to all of the hamata legions.

Neither Fortress nor barracks are in the building browser. I have the army rations built in almost every town but there's no option for barracks and the likes.

Currently I have the Praetorian building in Rome, which allows me to create Late Praetorians and a couple of those numbered legions created from random people from different countries. None of the Legio XIII etc.

I found Rome a city of bricks and left it a city of marble.

youre aware that higher tier barracks require other buildings apart from barrakcs?

liek citizenship, and fortified regions and supply of army ratiuns,

    just sayin.

And the Xiii is recruitable all over norther italy and massalia

None of which I see. Akragas is fully upgraded AFAIK, as is Rome. I have never seen a recruitment option for XIII or most of the legions for that matter. Only the ones I've mentioned and maybe the II, not sure.

I found Rome a city of bricks and left it a city of marble.

After the Reforms, and at a certain barracks level in Rome, no Legions are recruitable except the Praetorians. This is because during and after Augustus reign, no Legions were even allowed near Rome.

Except Legiones I, II, and III Italica. But only Legio I Italica was levied during RS II's timeframe.

So in other words there is no going back from Praetorians?

I found Rome a city of bricks and left it a city of marble.

    yes there is...
you can destroy the Castra Preatoria but you have to rebuilt the entire building tree up to roman fortress to be able to recruit the VII Augusta again...
Personally I think that would be nonsens though as the VII can be recruited in Capua and other Citys too

Off the top of my head, you need "supply of army rations" and citizenship to allow legion building. So figure out which of those you haven't done, and then do it. Then you can build numbered legions throughout Italy.

If you've figured out what to do at Rome, but not elsewhere, then I'm guessing you haven't given out extended Roman citizenship to your other cities. Citizenship requires a weapons metal import, a forum, and a Roman Oppidum provincial. (and a pre-citizenship level - either annexed region, or allied region).

    No it doesnt.

And after patch .1a it only requires a marked, not forum.

I'm confused as to why you'd want to... Since the legions are available all over the historical Roman Empire assuming you have the correct buildings constructed... So no, there's no way to go back, shy of demolishing the Castra Praetoria and then building them up again from the Oppidum tree.
