What combination are best?

I hope something like this has not been polled lately...

I think OST + 1TPY and Cities & Castles + 2TPY.
The reasons:

1. If you play OST + 1TPY, you can recruit more armies due to OST, and thus, can defend yourself properly, while 1TPY makes the time keep going (i.e. you don't wait forever for an event to happen and you don't conquer half of the world before being able to recruit some new unit).

2. Cities & Castles + 2TPY: you can recruit fewer armies due to Cities & Castles, and therefore, you can take advantage of having more time, and you may have more generals adopted due to 2TPY. I think this is more relaxing, because you have enough time at your disposal, so you don't need to conquer factions rapidly.

However, it seems that a faction like the Cuman Khanate can take advantage of 2TPY, because it can't update to new technology when others get plate armor, for instance. So I don't pretty know which of these two would work best: 1TPY or 2TPY.

I'd like to hear other opinions.

By the way, can any moderator please rename my thread from "What combination are best?" to "What combination is best?"? That grammatical error looks awful. And, as far as I know, I can't rename it myself.

I prefer Cities and castles at 2tpy. I enjoy the summer and winter and the character aging in 2tpy. also i jujst prefer the two settlement set up of cities and castles.

personally, i like different combinations for different factions lol. When i play as the KoJ, i prefer ost+2tpy...and everything else i prefer C&C+2tpy

Have you ever considered the OST for Castle only instead of cities? Each city has their own castle if I remember

well, it would not look good due to lack of diversity, that's for sure. Anyway, I don't think the castles can be modded to allow tax changing.

Well, just adding all the city's buildings into the castles like what the current OST did by adding the castle buildings to cities.. The tax might be changeable, need to search about it.

I prefer cities and castles + 1 TPY. 2TPY drags on way too much for me, especially in the early era. I really prefer getting the tech upgrade events sooner rather than later.

. It will makes sieges more tougher.

I can't decide: should I play 1tpy or 2tpy? Now that I play Cities&Castles, the conquests would be fewer, I believe. Anyway, as I want to play with the Cumans, I guess 2tpy would be better because I would be able to conquer Novgorod, Kiev, Lithuania, and, before the western factions would grow too strong to be able to invade Europe. I also want to play with western factions, and for them I guess that 1tpy is best.

However, I'm trying not to be a conqueror maniac, because I also like to develop settlements, have governors in my rich settlements, and defend the settlements. So perhaps 2tpy would be better in this situation.

any ideas? perhaps you can help me decide...

CnC 1TPY. the winter summer of 2TPY is nice but, 2TPY is to slow, even on 1TPY most players own the map after 120 turns. I think 2YPT is the most fun, as you get acccess to later technologies and don't rule the world with milita spearmen. Medieval period needs castles, OST is just dull, end of.

Yeah, and with OST you've got about 2 times (or more) more armies.
And about the Roman Empire, I think in OST its power grows by 10 times or something...

I don't know where I will get at turn 120, I've always played the first max about 20 turns, over and over again. Once I did not like a submode, other time a new SS was released, etc.
