Default Help with reflections on the Romans

    hello

Some of you seem to have much more knowledge on skinning than me, i have started a personal project to change the roman units to 3 colours (mainly for multiplayer battles etc), i created the blue version, and saved it as normal, but i seem to have lost the reflections on the legionaires (mainly the legionary late), i still have the gloss files on the alpha channels, what have i done wrong (the skins work fine, just don't reflect the scenary as they did before)

any help would be brilliant and when i am finished i will post them for all to choose the colours if they want multiplay battles or green/blue/or red romans.

    thanks

Well I dont use gloss files myself and see why CA removed them from the game, they arent really realistic, no ones armour reflects like that. Its to reflective, if anyone has seen real armour used you'll know what I mean, for some reason the reflections just dont look right IMO, plus there is a performance hit on your PC using them and SPQR already slows my PC down in Battles, and I have a good system.

    Default thanks LT

    hello

thanks for the reply, the reflections are used on the late legionaires in SPQR (only really noticed on the grass land levels) they reflect appose to the ones i have edited, which don't, what have i changed, i like the gloss files used on these romans, but know what you mean on other units, there seems to be a reflection, is there any chance i need to call up the 2 seperate gloss files in the tgs (there seems to be 2 of them, one a gloss file the other a TGA gloss) i have changed the name of the unit by adding a 2 on the end and called it up using the model battle text, should i cange the name of the gloss tga to 2 as well?.

sorry this is a whole new area for me, gloss files creating reflections..........(its just for these late romans with the plate armour)

    thanks

The ingame lighting systemworks fine without gloss, many skins i've made reflect nicely without the need for gloss files.

    Default The originals to mine

    hello

please can someone look at the late legions on grass, and see their reflectiveness, and where are the gloss files called from, can't find them in data files of rome

thanks, i normally don't bother with gloss files either but for these romans, it looks fantastic

here is a picture of the originals in SPQR, notice they reflect the greenery of the environment, and it all move as they move

    and notice the helmets

    and now look at mine

no reflections, just clean shine, how is the original effect achieved??? Please help as i may have an idea about improving the romans
