How do you erase your avatar?

So I just quickly loaded up the game before bed to have a look at the options and thought I'd quickly make an avatar, not worrying about selecting a home province with thought. Now it looks like I'm stuck with him! I can't figure out how to go back and choose a new starting zone with thought...

I've tried looking in the steamapps folder for a save file and in the roaming folder. It has a folder for "avatar" but there is nothing saved in it to delete.

Any help?

once you pick a starting position, you can't change it.

It's not as big a deal as you think - you can fight your way to the nearest spear/sword/stables/range to pick up the unit you previously missed. Using naval battles to cover ground faster (they are not affected by your gimped ground army comp.) You can pick up the ones you need

This. It takes little time to unlock the basics no matter where you are.

i did the same thing dude. although it would be nice to atleast have an option to restart or something, but it really isnt a big deal. there is no ticking clock or time limit, just take your time and try to have fun, i guess. i dont ever use matchlock samurai but i accidently chose the end of the map with all the matchlock bonus regions. a couple of fights later i as where i wanted to be.
