So in my Date game my west province just got hit by tsunami (no, I am not trolling), which besides reduce some cash flow I don't notice any significant change. That I wonder, how many natural disasters are in the game and how they are working?

Was your harbor or any building near the sea damaged (just curious to see if its modeled)?
"What is the most cowardly and shameful thing in human conduct? It's when people with power, and those who flatter them, hide in safe places and extol war--people who force patriotism and self-sacrifice on others, sending them to the battlefield to die. For the sake of peace in the universe, before we continue this fruitless war... mustn't we first start by exterminating such evil parasites?"

I shouldn't have laughed
@Mwulf: Completely unrelated to this thread, but I just want to compliment you on your EXCELLENT taste in shows.

I think permanent makes sense, things get destroyed. The wealth of the province decreases
The province growth will eventually ensure it recovers, but i think a permanent hit makes sense
Permanent doesn't make sense, especially since everything else in the game is temporary. For starters the harbor should be damaged.
I haven't seen a natural disaster yet.
I had a tsunami and nothing happened. Maybe a few sailors died, but it wasn't noticeable.

If I can manage to get an earthquake on one turn and a tsunami on the next turn, I'll march right to CA's doorstep and buy every single product they've ever made. Twice.
But I think the only real damage is a small population growth hit and some income loss. Not quite sure though as I've never payed attention to it really.
Tsunamis, earthquakes and volcanoes where the natural disasters my advisor warned me off.
Are they scripted like plague/volcano in Medieval?
I was looking yesterday an i believe they have (thankfully) scrapped population altogether. It never made sense to me, and was pretty poorly implemented in the past. Some times too slow, some times too fast, and no top cap, ive had cities in RTW, M2TW and ETW with several million people when they should not even be close
some places maybe but not most of the ones i came across.
I would think a Typhoon would be a much more common occurrence. In fact.. I'm pretty sure they happen quite frequently during Typhoon season... i mean... they have a season...for a reason.
My maritime fleet has picked up a storm and some crew members died
This happened when I chose not to give some money to some monks...I was curious what would happen:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
It says "My lord! We have incurred the wrath of Oyamatsumi! He has sent forth his fiery retribution from the mountains."
You can see the slower build and less production is the result.
