    Default So, whats next? guess.

So yeah, Shogun 2 is finally here and i gotta say that i just love it, best total war game so far i think.

People will get angry since the game has just been released but i couldn't hold my self back so...

What do you guys think they will do next?

    Another total war game?

Going for another typ of game? (FPS for example)

Or shutting down the Total War Section? (highly unlikely i belive)

I truly hope they do Rome 2. Make the best even better. But I would prefer the later Principate, too many mods are all on the middle-late republic. We all know what is going to happen: big fight between rome and carthage. But a redo of BI would be cool.

Most likely Rome 2, as that seems to be what the community is craving. But I'm not sure if they'll release 2 sequels in a row.

Maybe an Ancient TW? Make the BI timeframe into a whole game in and of itself? Greek era? The possibilities are really endless.

I'd buy and enjoy a R2TW, but I'd really love to see a TW game set in the late Renaissance period in Europe. Glorious Revolution or Thirty Years' War, anyone? Ideally, I'd like to see a game span a good 200 years, from about 1500-1700 (where Empire takes off). Most likely unrealistic, so I'd settle for one of the two centuries (either 1500-1600 or 1600-1700).

"If religious books are not widely circulated among the masses in this country, I do not know what is going to become of us as a nation. If truth be not diffused, error will be; If God and His Word are not known and received, the devil and his works will gain the ascendancy, If the evangelical volume does not reach every hamlet, the pages of a corrupt and licentious literature will; If the power of the Gospel is not felt throughout the length and breadth of the land, anarchy and misrule, degradation and misery, corruption and darkness will reign without mitigation or end." - Daniel Webster

Late Principate would be nice, perhaps even later with Sassanian invasion events, barbarians, etc.

Or they could do a colonial era TW, like 1492 - 1700s, build colonies and defeat your rivals economically. Only problem is that it would be too huge.

Something between Medieval and Empire timeframe would be nice.
But donīt know if they should include Americas or India again. Would need even more provinces there to show the native states there and make campaigns for these factions interesting (too huge to develop I guess).

I want Medieval Empire Total War! Nah Uhm, I don't really know what time period it would be, but after watching Apoclypto one too many times, I wonder if anything could be done with the Aztecs and Mayans and such? That I think could be cool, the map would be South America, you'd have little or NO ship combat though you would have many regioins to deal with, and I think that it would be cool to see some of the unit possibilities. Of course I am going by Deadliest Warrior for that as well.

Mayan/Aztec Total War for me then... Anyone else?

I was also wondering if they would do a game like this. I'm pretty sure that before the Aztecs reigned supreme, Mesoamerica was basically divided up into warring tribes like Japan or Gaul or whatever (relying on HIST 107 here...). The Aztecs were pushed back into a marshy area of land, and over time they eventually conquered all their neighbours. Have the game during their rise to power, with maybe a map that goes from southern US to maybe Peru to add the Incas in as well.

Plus for an expansion they could do, well to be honest, an exact remake of BI - except it's EI = EUROPEAN INVASION!!!!! Have the Spanish and the Portuguese (don't know how involved they were over here) plus you have the crumbling of the Aztec empire from rebellious tribes who wished to break free from their Aztec overlords. It's RTW: BI all over again, except with some guns and a little bit of human sacrifice on the side

I would like to see WW1: TW.
They wont do R: TW2 next, they wont create 2 remakes in a row.

I feel that WW1 might be too recent for them, there are plenty of World War 1/2 games out there, and I don't think Total War would be suitable for it. There are a few wars after the Napoleonic before WW1 though. Such as the Crimmean (sp?). I do feel that it won't be a more recent era though. I know everyone feels like they won't do another sequel, they will probably do something like they did with Napoleon, perhaps a spin off for China?

What would you call it though? China Total War isn't very descriptive, and doesn't really imply a time period.. Dynasty Total War maybe?

They should totally go for WW1 Total War and WW2 Total War.
Is it just me or is anyone else sick of the Rome, Medievel and Empire Era's?
It would be totally cool to see something at the dawning of the modern / jet age being used.
Choose Germany, Brits, Chinese, Japs, Yanks or one of the minor nations.
Are they brave enough to make one like that??

I would LOVE to see a Medieval 3, but I doubt it'll happen sadly My guess would be R2TW or a completely different time period.

the Roman era has been played out, maybe a redone Barbarian Invasions but i think there are much better options out there

US Civil War or the Crimean War come to mind, though i doubt they'll go there
