Add_Money cheat not working for me

The add money cheat is not working. I type exactly this:
add_money 40000

and this comes up:
err: command not recognised (use ? for help).

Someone help please, also i don't know if this is the right section lol.

It works but it has to be typed exactl. An extra space you may not catch will cause the error.

I've used it too many years in RTW/BI and M2TW/Kingdoms. Do the other cheats work?

Be sure you don't hit the space bar before typing.

Take it as a sign from above that you're not meant to cheat.

You have to go to Rome Shell first by clicking ` yw

Depending upon what version of RTW you are running. I know the cheats in RTW 1.2 could only be used once. I think when RTW BI came out the cheats could be used numerous times.

Oh ok thanks! How do I get the new one? Because my cheats only work once so I guess I am using 1.2? But If I get the new one will me campaign be gone and I will have to start over again or will it transfer to the other one?

Well, the way to tell which version you are using is to look the top right hand side of the options menu - the number there is the version number.

People sometimes think that they've patched the game but the only way to really tell if the game is patched to the correct level is to check there.

Until you check there is no real need to give a link to any patches. They are available in several places that I know of.
