    Default Issue in battle

    ok I have been playing as Sparta for a few days now. all good... now all the sudden I went against Carthage and every time I close in their troops the game crashes... one of their units made my game crash... then I went I went in custom battle and tried some battle and noticed that theres actually many units that I look at and my game crashes... like the last legion on the list (the Octavian one on the list) its all good until I get closer to look at it and it crashes right away... anyone has same issue? or knows how to solve it?

    Tones suggestions on fixing this problem.

    Also dont set unit detail on highest set on high.
    if you setting the high res models on it will suck up your GPU power especially if you have huge units.

    Basically you have to play around a bit to get the best performance as it is a very old engine so doesnt have alot of modern functionality.
    best way to do this is start a Rome zero turn campaign as the first turn allows you to go into a battle with carthage str8 away to test settings

    also have you patched the exe. with LAA. This is quite critical due to Rome unable to use multi-core support.

    RSII Technical Help

    now...go to main screen > options > video settings > advanced settings

    checkbox UNIT SHADERS: ON
    checkbox HIGH UNIT DETAILS: OFF

    problem should be solved

    hey um... the game runs fine... I thought about the graphics thing and turned it all to lowest... but still it crash when I zoom at certain units
    I already tested with all low setting all turned off... it still crashes
    and what is this?

    I had both off... but did the following and started working? wtf lol

    forget about LAA...copyright infringement and RTW will NOT adress more than 2GB RAM no matter what...

    forget about LAA...copyright infringement and RTW will NOT adress more than 2GB RAM no matter what...
    copy right infringement... QUE?

    its altering the exe because it opens part of it and overwrites or why do you think all links have been removed from TWC ?
    anyway its useless as it only encourages the built up of trashed memory cause contrary to CA claims they never managed to fix the memory leaks in RTW/BI and Alex...
    if you minimize the game and come back 2 hours later the task manager will show 3,2 GB ram in usage for RTW which is only trash which will cause CTD sooner or later.
    The engine will not use more than 2GB anyway and ignore any LAA stuff for practical ingame usage ...thats a CA statement

    Ok fair enough.

    but its a a supported advised feature on Microsoft support, ok, in hindsight i suppose that isnt the best recommendation in the world .

    but it does work, i have an LAA self application program and my games are so much smoother

    I have all my settings on high/highest and have yet to see a CTD caused by a close up on a unit luckily. Only CTD I encounter is immediately after winning a battle that causes you to take a city immediately after, selecting "Enslave" occasionally causes a CTD.
