Default Lithuania once again not in the game?

    hi there,
I am writing to you because I hve got no reply from officials at activision and sega. my case is about medieval II and to make it short I add my post to them, it explains quite nicelly what I had in mind:

I am an officer in Lithuanian army and very fond of strategy PC
games. especially those from total war series. unfortunatly I see that you do
intend on commiting same mistake in Medieval II TW as in its prequel. the
problem is that you disregard Lithuania in medieval times, thou you do put
Scotland and Russia as playable factions thou they had no actual influence in
making a history. Lithuania was THE BIGGEST country in medieval times from 12
hundreds untill 1569 when it came into union with Poland. anyway it is quite
insulting not to include Lithuania as a active faction in your new game. for
instance Gruenwald/Tanenberg battle in 1410, when united forces of Poland's king
(who was himself a lithuanian) and Lithuania's grand Duke Vytautas anihilated
the army of Teutonic knights totaling 40000 troops, was the biggest medieval
battle and it changed estern and middle Europe for ever. I hope that you will
reconsider this and reply me via email.
I wrote to Activision as well but recieved no answer as yet... I do hope that
SEGA company wants to do a marvelous game (medieval II TW) but I also hope that
it will be HISTORICALLY CORRECT! I understand that you must include Russia out
of political neccesity, but please do no more historical harm to Lithuania's
prestige. it is far too painfull
    respectfully yours
1st ltn. Ugnius Vaishnora von Wendt

so... could you help me with this one... push some lever, post it somewhere where it could be picked up by activision officials, or at least advise my what to do

    looking forward for your replies

I agree Lithuania needs at least to be in as an enemy of the Tuetonic Knights. Perhaps non-playable only

O man. Isn't there already a thread on this? O wait, those were the 'I need Serbia!' and 'Bohemia or die CA' threads.

I dunno about the relevance of Lithuania, Serbia or Bohemida but all this ' i demand faction x' has a suspicious smell of nationalism about it. And i don't like it.

Why should you be offended if your country isn't included in a GAME? Really, it's a futility.

    Smoke,

I seems obvious that you don’t kwon much about Lithuanian Medieval History (or about Serbian or Bohemian)…

But there are people that seem to enjoy historical games when they have some historical accuracy… And it’s only natural that someone from Lithuania is interested in some accuracy about its own countries history!

(By the way I am not from Lithuania… or Serbia, or Czech Rep.)

Ah you can speak swedish... Trevligt (skickade pm på engelska innan jag såg detta).
The map show that Lithuania was very big. Actually I didn't know you were that big. You shall be in the game!

No, is not smell of nationalism. It is realism. Who in Medieval times know about Milan? No body! But Great empires as HRE and Byzans ASK FOR PIECE OR SUPPORT from realy powerfull states as Bulgaria, Serbia, Lithuania. But ware they are in "REALISTIC" game? Missing.
Realistic should be full, not partial.

If Lithunia was as big as he says, then it would be stupidity to factions as Scotland before Lithunia. The Faction limit is being expanded so there will be room for more factions, but CA is probably not going to include any more factions, but someone is going to mod it in anyway after the game is released, so have patience and Lithunia will be in the game, just not in the original version

    Finish my sentence:

however I do not think th eTeutonic knights are in as a faction so its pretty pointless

Also e-mailing the publishers are pointless since they don't make the game and usually have little influence over a game.

Firstly, Scotland also had a large influence in Western European politics, and their addition would make the game much more interesting and intricate in Western Europe. 'Russia' is an awfully inaccurate faction, but they are interesting because they are the first to face the Mongol hordes (and let's face it, they're more famous, though I don't agree that that's a positive reason for adding them in). I would say though that Lithuania should make it in as a faction. As you say, they were very important (but I wouldn't remove Scotland and Russia to make room for them). However, I hope that the pro-Lithuanian posts do not turn into the sort of thing that Kakhaber, Kolkhi and Beka like to post about Georgia.

I agree with you Giurza. But have no worries, the Medieval Total Realism mod will correct any inaccurate thing and I would be suprised if your country is not in.

for all those that say I am a nationalist see for your selves. http://viduramziu.lietuvos.net/en/index.htm it's in english too. I would agree with you if it would consern serbia or other minor country (please don't be offended, I come from same minor country now) but it touches medieval times when Lithuania stretched out from Baltic see to Black see, beeing the biggest (am I repeating lol) country. fact is that Russians... or Moscow and Kiev Ducchies faced Mongols first, but it was Lithuania who had to firght them eventually. I am very happy that my thread arosed such interest, and for those that still think I am a nationalist see for yourselves. the green territory is grand duchy of lithuania. sorry that I could not find a more explicit img

now then. thanks for help. click to enlarge

Radier, many thanks for your kind words.

an by the way, I am equally thrilled about Scotland beeing added to the game. it was not my intention to argue scotland's rights to be in. I am big fan of Scotland mainly because their fate was quite similar to Lithuania's, exept that that Lithuania WAS a superpower at the time. and still Russia is a complete  in medieval times. Moscows Duchy even paid tribute to lithuania when Lt was ruled by a binary (completely unique for medieval times) government (two grand dukes of lithuania, brothers per sei, ruled in harmony GDL Kestutis and GDL Algirdas) Kestutis took care of Teutonic threat and Algirdas expanded Lithuania's border in expence of Moscow's and Kiev's lands. Kiev later became part of grand duchy of Lithuania as well

I have to say ... that is quite a sight.

I tend to think that Lithuania should be in over a faction like Scotland, but Scotland is much more appealing to the masses. The movie "Braveheart" ensured that, and in truth, what CA truly wants is to sell games, like all developers and distributers. CA is apparently considering increasing the number of factions, though, and Lithuania might be one they would include, if they did increase it.

While I agree with Lithuania being a faction, and I am not Czech, Grunwald is not the biggest battle. Teutons had only 27K. I know that the biggest knight battle was fought at the Durnkrut, where 40000 Bohemians fought against 40000 Germans and 20000 Hungarians.
