Default Update thread 14 Mar. 2011

The resources are now fully placed. The only remaining changes will be for minor map corrections and to correct the placement if it's inappropriate (like a farming village in the Alps or something). Carados is cranking away on the units again, and I think those are getting close to done. We'll still need to work on unit cards, but those are fairly straightforward. Oh, and I added Greno Zee's students for all factions minimod, so now all of the civilized factions will get students. Rome will still get special ones, of course.

Next on tap for me is getting to work on buildings, I think. Normally, I'd be spending my birthday stuffing myself and playing video games, but I've finished stuffing myself (there's only so much of that one can reasonably do in one day) and I've once again given up single-player video games for Lent. So I think I'll work a bit, then maybe read my new book for awhile before bed.

    Thanks!

I'm a huge fan of his Samurai Cat work, so when I heard he had a new comedy out I had to get it.

I took it easy on the modding tonight and just cleaned up some ancillaries, traits, and triggers. When I added the nomad culture, I didn't update those to reflect that.

Something I noticed which might explain why the cultures aren't working 100% yet. In the EDB, at least, Parthia is listed as a seperate culture when it should actually be listed as Eastern.

That's very strange. I don't think it would have any negative affect on the cultures, but I'll delete the redundancy regardless. There's no good reason for it.

Maybe so, but there is the possibility that a similar problem is elsewhere where it is having an effect. The Ptollies have nomad/barbarian cities on the strategy map, and I think the music is eastern rather than Greek so something has gone wrong down the line. If the maximum number is 7 then it might ignore all cultures beyond the 7th if more are listed. Potentially.

I might get some screen shots up for some of the new units

Go for it! I think that would be cool.

The Ptollies are showing weird? Bother. I'll have a look.

I just checked and all of Egypt is showing as Egyptian. Is it just a few cities? If so, we might need to switch some city creators from Numidia (a nomadic faction now) to Carthage or Egypt.
