How long does Napoleon's Grand Campaign take roughly?

I picked up NTW on sale and want to finish the Grand Europe Campaign before I move on to Shogun 2. Can someone give me a rough estimate of how long their European Campaign took playing as the French? I'm planning to auto-resolve every minor battle.

Depends on your difficulty setting. THe higher the difficulty, the more armies the AI can produce and send out to you, so the slower your conquest will be.

About six or seven.

For me on VH/VH probably about 40 turns, but for the majority of people on this site I would it takes them about 100 turns at least, due to their individual playing styles.

I never finish, I get bored at around 100+

not that I cant, i just like to let the AI and economies grow so we can have a lot of big battles everywhere, but then I get the urge to play as someone else

its as if Im addicted to empire building rather than fighting

That is exactly how i am.....been trying to think up a descreption for it. But you beat me there.

I do the same thing, I rarely ever finish my campaigns for this very reason. Usually I just pick a faction I like, play to about mid-game, get bored and start over with someone else.

It would take me about 7 years to conquer all of Europe, however by then, you are so powerful that it is basically as easily as having Chuck Norris steal candy from a baby.

I'm playing it for the first time around, and i dont see how i'll be able to conquer all the way to Moscow by 1812. im already at some point in 1809, and i am desperately trying to get to Prussia. Conquered Britain though. built up a navy, crushed Nelson, and a year later swept the British out of their home and back to Gibraltar. Holding on to Austria too, and may finally be able to conquer that area too.

It took me 144 turns on normal, and I fought most land battles. Resolved all naval battles. To conquer the world, it took 188 turns...England is hard to beat- they don't seem like much, but they have a few full armies throughout.

Took me at least 30 hours of gameplay.

Whoops! I must have been tired, I did wraparound in my head.

This campaign is freaking hard. I eventually beat it, but I had to do so much stuff correctly.

I would largely think it depends on how good you are at the game more than anything.

Ok, I am totally new and see no option for the grand campaign. Where am I missing it? I see the campaigns of the coalition and campaigns of Napoleon but no grand campagn. I have the Imperial edition. Is this something I have to unlock?

campaigns of napoleon are in 3 parts- a short italian campaign, a short egyptian campaign, and a 7 year long Europe campaign. the last one is referred to as the "grand campaign." to unlock it you must finish the egyptian and italian.

You need only start the Italian and Egyptian campaigns to unlock the next one; no need to finish it.

I just wrapped up a france campaign, took me 70 turns. Austria is reduced to Galicia, Prussia is dead, Russia is dead, Sweden is dead, pretty much every small german state except Oldenburg and Hesse are dead, Denmark is confined to Norway, and the U.K.(my protectorate as I liberated it when I took london) only has one province. I effectively castrated europe in 70 turns.
