Default A question for Mac users

    Hi all,

Would anyone who is a Mac user mind creating a downloadable ".dmg" file with a saved game for the very beginning of the Romani and Koinon Hellenon campaigns? Preferably with "huge" size troop units selected in the main menu options, please. I would be eternally grateful!

As XSamatan already knows, I've encountered a problem with Europa Barbarorum on my MacBook where the game is able to start but will not allow you to visit the page where you select factions for a new campaign. In other words, you can never play the game!

I first downloaded RTW from GamersGate, which sells Feral Interactive products, but it did not work for EB at all. I noticed in the RomeModSetup demonstration video for installing mods that there should be two icons, one for starting regular RTW, and another for launching the Barbarian Invasion expansion. The GamersGate version combined these into one icon, so perhaps that's where the problem was?

My suspicions were partially answered when I decided to just buy the game directly from Feral Interactive. With their disk version, I was able to start one Romani campaign (with "large" size troop units) just to see if it would work, but right after this I encountered the same problem described above (i.e. game will not allow you to see view the page where you select a faction for a new campaign). I'm now forever stuck with playing just the Romani, and only large size troop units! Grrr! It must have been a total fluke, and a lucky one at that, considering that I'm playing the game at all. I made backup files for my Romani campaign just to be safe.

This is all terribly annoying, so if someone has the heart to take the time and share a few saved games from the beginning of campaigns for at least the Romani and Koinon Hellenon (and perhaps even Makedonia), that would be excellent. I'd even try to return the favor somehow.

    Cheers,
    Eric, aka Roma_Victrix

That's too bad. However, to be absolutely clear, I'm more interested in saved games from the very beginning of a campaign (around 272 BC), instead of working on the decades-long efforts of someone else's campaign. However, I'm fairly desperate at this point, so virtually anything would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Eric

Did you get no response from Feral? It seems as if they don't post on the org's Mac thread anymore, but maybe you can ask them directly for support.

I think they don't take direct requests for help. That's what the support thread is for, but it's been pretty much nonactive for a few months now. In fact, I checked the profile pages of the Feral support guys in that thread, and each one says they haven't even logged in to the site for about three months! With that in mind, it looks as if my two year overseas journey with just my MacBook will include only one EB campaign that I can play. Lame!

Thanks for the advice, though, XSamatan.
