Rome Total War

Ok so ive had Rome Total War a few years now. I stopped playing for a while and today I decided I wanted to build a Roman Empire so I tried to start it up and I get an error to insert the correct cd when the correct cd is already in there. What should I do I really want to play

After this long, try a clean install.

Ive reinstalled it plenty of times to no effect.

Are you logged in as Administrator?

I am logged in as the administrator, and the link didnt help. I think the cd is just to old and banged up. Either I buy a new cd or something thats all I can think of to fix the problem
