Green arrow cursor is not there

Lately, the green cursor to show where my archers are aiming at in the battle map does not appear. This also happens on the campaign map when landing an army ashore. As well that on the battle-map, the sword icon does not appear either for attacking units. I'm sure this is all interlinked but I can't find any similar problem throughout the forum. Any help would be most welcome. Thanks

Q: How do I get rid of the green circles under the selected unit(s)?

A: In medieval2.preference.cfg, there is a line that says:
disable_arrow_markers = 0
Just change the 0 to 1

Maybe this will help, even if it's not quite what you're describing.
