Crusader Mercs

Hi I was crusading and in every region the only thing available was pilgrims same with normal mercanarys I cant recruit any just ships is there a way I can change this ?

Crusader Mercs appear a bit later in campaign - regions start with pool set up on 0 and it takes few turns before they replenish. But they will be there for sure. Unless this region can't offer such mercs

Im playing as england / France, England, then in Italy and finally in Jerusalem (not in the city it was urn 23 late era by the way

Leave it longer for the units to replenish.

Another crusading faction passing through could have exhausted the pool too.

no Im the first thats what came to mind to me also I turned fog of war off im the only crusading army right now

You can only recruit ships near the coast.

maybe the regions were not mostly catholic?heretics mess everything up by decreasing the number of catholics in settlements.

Some regions do not have ability to recruit merc ships, even if they have a coastline, if they have, or border on a lake.
This is because the AI continually recruits merc ships on inland lakes, and even parks entire armies in them.
To prevent this merc ships are removed from some regions.

Some regions don't have Crusader mercs. England and France however should be bursting with them so long as your general in question has actually joined the crusade.

what is the commanding general's piety?In MTW, the quality and number of men you got during the crusade depended on the piety of the general leading the crusade. Maybe, it still has something to do with it.
