    Default Historical reenactment. Just a few rules.

    After many campaigns, I decided to stop the madness that occurs on the battlefields. For myself of course.

    I really do not like the fact that experienced generals using the features of gameplay to turn the game into a comic or even a circus. Well, for example, use mad love AI to new regions in diplomacy or "horse racing" around the battlefield to tighten the time. Nothing to do with historical authenticity it has not.

    And most important - so we lost the spirit of Total War, which is extremely unfortunate. You can tell the players they buried the game.

    if you have the desire to get a totally different world, as close to the time you can try to play with a few simple but effective rules.

    - difficulty HARD (str) / NORMAL (battle);

    - do not use the button REGIONS in diplomacy;
    - not to kill the generals with spies;
    - GB may have 20 merchant ships with a maximum, and the others states 10;

    - do not use the border and corners cards in battle, even if there is a great hill (for example, no closer than 2 -3 musket shots);
    - the defense of the city to do it within the city itself, and defend to the last central building (destroying it is impossible);
    - do not run around the battlefield and remain position;
    - not to attack the reinforcements near the edge of the map;

    - in short, to behave like a gentleman and never quit.

    If you want to add anything, I'll be only too glad to do so.

    Thanks for Napoleon Bonaparte (from Croatia) for support.

    People are gonna play like they are going to, although the standards you put seem a little extreme the main thing is to not quit although if someone is not enjoying a game they have all right to leave.

    These rules sound very good. I have to agree with you about killing the spirit of the game, I have no fun chasing people around the map or, for instance, being Britain and having all my allies suddenly turn on me because my opponent just gives away territories.

    And I agree with nick about play till the end; I've only not completed a campaign once, and that was because my opponent was using a battlefield cheat/glitch.

    1. Destroying buildings in your region being taking over is the equivalent scorched earth tactics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scorched_earth

    2. Why not kill generals with spies when this campaign is supposed to reflect reality and a war of stealth and deception. http://www.napoleonguide.com/assassin.htm

    I would quit too if such rules were placed on a campaign game. I bet Napoleon in the past would have enjoyed these rules, if it favors his army in conquering Europe.

    War doesn't play people games, it plays it's own.

    Well I misread the destroying buildings rule, but the assassination rule is quite good. Killing generals is much to easy in this game. In a recent MPC I played all of my generals were killed withing 4 turns by spies.
