    Default Questions:Privy Seal...

Hi!I love this mod very much but there are few things unclear to me:
    1. I cant give privy seal by dragging it to another General in the same City, can i only give it on the begining of the game or theres something wrong?
    2. Do the Garrison Script work for human players, will mine key citys spawn army when attacked?
3.Can you give me few tips about managing who will your next heir be?

You must be outside a settlement to transfer any ancillary and not all ancillaries are transferable, but the privy seal is.
    2. Do the Garrison Script work for human players, will mine key citys spawn army when attacked?
A human controlled settlement will not generate a garrison script, it only applies to AI players and was placed in the mod primarily to prevent the AI from leaving settlements with little or no garrison
3.Can you give me few tips about managing who will your next heir be?
If you look at the family tree you can tell how the succession will fall.

So for instance at the start of the game you should give the privy seal to the general you want to be the next heir. Be careful though, if you give the seal to a non family member they will start a new family tree when they become faction leader.

Are you sure this works. I gave the seal to a general and when the leader died his son became king and his newly of age grandson became the heir.

Yes, this works it has been extensively tested. I cannot explain what happened in your case, because I do not have enough information. (screenshots, family tree, ancillaries etc.) After you transferred the privy seal to your chosen heir did you check the family tree to confirm the succession of heirs?

Privy Seal related question.. In my campaign a general died with the seal, I don't like to reload just because I screw up so I went along with it - but now 20+ turns later my king hasn't got it back. I've made sure that his ancillary isn't full, he's in the capital (I moved it, but the old capital doesn't work either).. so do I have to cheat it in or what? - if so, what is the code for it?

I'm just getting tired of all my kings having -5 authority (unmanly and ignorant). My computer apparently thinks this is hilarious as it continuously picks these guys instead of competent (+6) authority guys.

Check your family tree and see if an heir does not have the privy seal. You may have to move the King out of a settlement to get the seal. The trigger should fire at the end of the turn and calls for the privy seal to be given to the faction leader if he has less than eight ancillaries and the privy seal does not already exist somewhere else.

The cheat for the privy seal is 'give_ancillary this privyseal'. The character must be selected and must not be in a settlement or stacked with other generals and must have a free ancillary slot.

Found this thread in the modding section. Apparently, if the faction heir dies before the faction leader, a new heir is assigned randomly. I hope that this explains the reason for the heir given the Privy Seal from not becoming the faction leader.

The Privy Seal can be transfered to any general in the faction u chose. When my faction leader at the age of 55+ I will choose a family member who will receive what can be trasfered from my faction leader!

Ok so I have my family tree, current king is fine, current Heir is fine as well. I have given the Privvy seal to another general who is rather excellent, he doesn't have one bad trait at all. So my king dies, new heir goes to the throne - thats cool. But imagine my surprise when the guy with they privvy seal is overlooked for some no-mark prince who has just about the worst stats of any of my generals. He is a bad governer and even worse general, he has stuff like foreign fruticake and mad.

Why on earth did he get the factioheir trait over the guy with over 14 loyalty (8 Auth) he has 5 loyalty and something like 1 authority?? It just doesnt make sense.

Have tried the cheat code give_trait but it just messes up the save because it gives the relevant trait but still displays the original dude as the heir regardless.

Need help with this, I really dont want him as my heir. I have reloaded to an old save prior to my king dieing, but he is 60 so this problem will no doubt come back very soon. To recap Im happy with the current heir, but I need the game to recognise the superior general as the new heir (or anyone other than him tbh) when my current king dies.

If all else fails Ill just train up some assassins or send him on a suicide mission

Was the general you gave the privy seal to a member of the ruling family or a general outside of the family? Did you read the thread in my previous post? The next heir will always be the one with the most authority, some times even with the privy seal, the desired character does not have enough authority to be made the ruler.

Havent had chance to check since, but yeah I did read your post. I am pretty sure he has really low Authority (he has almost all negative traits) Will check tonight and post again if I cant resolve it.

This is, essentially the answer to the "why my general with Privy Seal did not become a faction heir" question.
The Privy Seal will give the general +6 Authority but you have to take into consideration his traits and ancillaries as well.
Plus, if I'm not mistaken: a)if a new King has a son who is of age and b)it's a direct line of succession,... no matter how high the other guy's authority is, the son will become an heir.
