Game unplayable for 4 Vs 4 even single player

I have strange problem when playing 4 Vs 4 battle that though the fps seems to be fine above 30 or 40 fps consistently the animations seems to have skipped now and then so it looked weird and as if the game was lagging.

I wonder what seems to be the problem

Empire is the same too even worse I think.

I have the exact same problem, but on ETW, since I don't yet own Napoleon. I have the same GFX card as you and an i7-960 3.2Ghz. My rig should not have any problems playing this.

Somehow I think that it is a safety precaution done by our GFX cards so that it doesn't overheat. Because those are a lot of textures to render, it just skips the animations. Maybe there is some way to turn this off, but I wouldn't know how...

How does Shogun2 demo run in your rig?

Mine could go over 90 fps but when looking at a lot of dead bodies and when zooming in up close to large action the fps would be pulled down to lower than 20

I'm thinking to get i7 2600 and a new mobo but I'll try installing the full game first.

No reason to upgrade. Your specs do not seem too bad. The reason why it's slowing down in Sh5ogun 2 is because the demo was not optimized but was making use of only 1 of your cores. The full game should make use of all your cores. So don't worry.

Btw, if you ever upgrade, don't get the i7 2600k, but get the i5 2500k. The i5 actually does better on some games, it's cheaper, and you won't notice a difference in your games.

Lastly, I'm still wondering how to override this GFX protection system. I'm gonna give it a try tonight.
