Funniest to play against, Cimbri or Boii

Hi there, I have two questions for you guys.

1) In my Roman campaign (in 622), the Boii confederation is in the process of eradicating the Cimbri from the map, which means that it will soon be the only faction I'll have to fight in central/eastern Europe. I'm thinking of maybe sending a bunch of legions to restore a decent Cimbri territory. But I am wondering, which faction is the funniest to fight against ? I'd like to have some feedback from those of you who had to fight both of them. Which one and why?

2) A related question, in general which factions are the funniest to play against? Which ones are the most vulnerable that I should try to help early in the game? In my Roman campaign it's a bit to late, I tried to save the Seleucid without much success, but at least Armenia took the space and not Parthia. The Free Greeks possess all modern day Turkey, the Ptolemaic and Sarmatian are still strong, but the rest pretty much already vanished.

If by funniest you mean the weakest then id recomend you let the Boii take over.

Them Cimbri Bear and Wolf warriors will make mincemeat of your legionaries. And their Cannine-somefink(?) cavalry is just sick. As a matter of fact, The Cimbri have the most devastating infantry in the mod, and the Boii are the "weakest" of all barbarian factions.

And Id recommend helping Sparta. If by turn fifty or so, they havent expanded beyond Sparta then youd better give em money cuz theyll get pwned by the greeks or macedons.

Ya the Cimbri annihalate Legionares.Use Force Diplomacy to manage factions, give that region to youself then give it to them.

@Lolzilla, by funnier I don't mean easier. I mean the one you have the most fun to try to beat on the battlemap. As a matter of fact, the game becomes pretty easy at this point, so it sounds like saving the Cimbri and then trying to conquer Germania against them would be a nice challenge!

@Ferdiad, I try not to use force diplomacy for that kind of stuff and use my legionaries instead, but I guess maybe I'll try it in a next campaign to face more diversity of enemies.

You better watch out for Bear warriors

The weakness of many Germanic units/Cimbri is there elites have no armor, thus sling, arrow, or javelin units targeting bear and wolf warriors eliminates their threat quickly. If you want a more long lasting challenge, have the Boii fight you. The Boian heavy swords and spearmen and champions should make for some nice 'arrow proof' opponents and make winning the battles more satisfying.

When playing historically with the legions - meaning 1 first cohort, 9 legions, 1 general, and the rest a mix of auxiliary, archers, and cavalry troops, I have similar results against the Cimbri. I use ALX.exe and that may be play a factor as well. Basically if you have a nice collection of missile troops, then the bear/wolf warriors stand no chance. They wear no armor, no helmets, and are very vulnerable vs. slingers, archers, or javelins an pila attacks so when they reach your lines it's a done deal and their numbers are reduced to around 1/4 strength. The same is not all that true with the Boian elites and these troops are more or less intact once they reach your lines since slings and arrows do little, and only a single pila volley, sometimes two, can be launched before they reach your lines.
