differences between shogun 2 and SS?

im going to be honest, i have never played medieval 2 total war without stainless steel, even a little bit.

with that in mind, what kind of difference will i expect in playing unmodded shogun two? i know that combat has been noticeably changed in stainless steel compared to vanilla, so i am interested in what kind of things in the way combat goes i might find unfamiliar.

i tried the demo, but its kinda hard to get a good picture of it from the tutorial battles.

i don't think you could really compare SS to S2TW. they are so vastly different. for one, they take place in different places in different times, one in the European Middle Ages, the other in Japan during the 1600s.

i mean more of a game-play perspective, strength of cavalry, effectiveness of archers, etc.

Joke's on both of you: my motorcycle is made out of bread.

We shouldn't criticize the poster too heavily here - the games aren't entirely different. The era and geography, perhaps, but the game mechanics will be similar, I'm sure. And if anything, if Shogun 2 turns out to be another CA rush job, it'll have a lot in common with Vanilla M:TW before the SS team got a hold of it.
