Default New Computer Build for Shogun2

    Hey all,

I was thinking of getting this setup and I wanted to make sure I could probably run it on the highest settings:

    Intel Core i5-2000K 3.3GHz Quad Core - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115072
    EVGA GeForce GTX 460 1GB - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130596
    G.SKILL Ripjaws 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231314
    Resolution - 1280x1024

I currently have a 500W power supply but I don't know if that is enough. If it isn't, then I was thinking of getting this 650W power supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005).

It seems like there are already some LGA 1155 floating around (after the recall). I saw a couple on tigerdirect.com and I wanted to make sure that these will run with everything and be what I need. I'd like to go with the $119 one (1st one instead of the other one unless there is a reason not to):

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...818&CatId=6978
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...083&CatId=6978

I appreciate anyone's time and help.

Those are almost exactly the same choices I made for my build.
Thats a good deal on RAM.
Budget? Are you including the OS in that budget? I take it you're using an old case.
HD? Western digital have decent 1 TB blue and black (better) drives, they would be a good place to start.
At that resolution, you should be able to run it fine.

Thank you for your input. I am using my old case, my western digital hdd, and the windows7 64 bit OS. I wanted to make sure that the 119 asus mobo is compatible with everything and the 500 watt psu is good enough. Thanks.

It is also very similar to my build as well but I use 2 gtx 460 in sli. I saved some money on the processor. I chose a i5 760 1156 which is cheaper and saved the money for another gtx 460. It obviously increased the total amount but not that much since I saved some money on the processor. Next month I will have the money to buy a decent cooler for the processor and I will overclock it. I plan to use watercooling. I heard this i5 760 can easily reach 4,5 GHZ.

Erm. The answer is probably not, though I cant find the specific mobo your talking about.
It will need to be able to handle that RAM, have a 1155 processor socket, and PCIe x16 slot for your card.

The mobos are linked in my first post.

Shogun isn't gonna need nearly that much power.

Not from what I'm reading from the demo.

shogun is going to need that power if you want it play with all the bells and whistles... My laptop that played etw on high is on dare need of an update, since I cant play the demo on those kind of specs.

Although it can be reasonably said that the gpu is overkill and overpriced. there is the 6850 and the 6870

I just want to make sure one or both of those mobos I linked to in my first post will work and will work well.

Both mobos have an 1155 socket which is the kind of socket the mentioned processor uses. One of them supports crossfire sli the other doesnt. I would go with the one with crossfire sli option. I would suggest anyway a more powerful power supply unit.

All right, cool. So the 650 psu is what would be recommended (linked in my first post) ?

Why dont you get a 560gtx thats more future proof and then get less ram if money is a problem, since you can always upgrade that later.
    Cpu: Intel i5 3570k 4.0ghz
    Gpu: Nvidia Gtx 770 2gb
    Ram: G.Skill 8gb ddr3
