Hey guys. Just an idea that I just came up with (it might have been suggested before, sorry if that is the case).

The idea is not very historical. Just another way to play the game.

The game starts with 2 or more players, free for all (though team-playing could work as well). Everyone starts outside the castle (or whatever they call these fortresses). The goal would be something like "Be the first to hold the top tier flag for 2 minutes."

So in a game like this, you have to decide if you are going to rush the flag with all your force, or intercept your enemies. Or maybe a mix of both.

What do you guys think? A good or a bad idea. Do you think it would be fun, or would it ruin the feeling of Shogun 2?

I could see how this could be fun for some. I wouldn't play it though, but I am a firm believer in MP is for FPS only, RTS is only for single player. I love my Bad Company 2, don't get me wrong, but Total War is my time to get all reclusive and just fight the AI. If it must go MP, then just traditional battles.

King of the Hill in the original Shogun:TW was so much fun. I want it back!

I always had an idea for an 'arcade mode' which could feature things like that, wave defense batttles, themed matches (You have three ninja and an archer - fight this army), and other silly things that don't fit elsewhere. I'd quite like it as a distraction, but only so long as it didn't intrude on the campaign and such.
