    Default Secondary DLV_exe Folder?

    I have just realized that the DLV_exe folder WITHIN the DLV mod, is a unique part of the DLV build. What is it's function exactly? I once accidentally erased it thinking it was a redundant mis-copied fragment from my modding, and found it to be required to launch. Why? Does anyone know what it is for, and why other mods don't seem to need it?

    Hmm, I've noticed that its somewhat of a catch-all for a couple folders, but mostly contains some of the strategy map models for the characters and agents, along with one or two other directories. Its probably a hold-over from a very early build of DLV, and was simply repman's or someone else's modding decision. You could probably move the folders elsewhere, but then you'd also have to go through a bunch of export_ files to make sure you changed all of the file lines that refer to files within data/DLV_ext/... More trouble than its worth, but it would be a nice bit of housekeeping haha.

    Though there are several other pieces of legacy flotsam lying around in there, how that extra sub-folder could be not a design element is a bit harder to believe.
    Yes, it does have references to it currently though.

    Yep, I deleted that file assuming I had incorrectly extracted an update at some point only to find out the game wouldn't run without it!

    But, in def of TQ's comment, the contents do appear to be redundant. Even out of date/sync with the latest version.
    It has become of interest to me because if there is a way to sub-mod WITHIN a mod, this technique might be a part of that.
    So understanding it's current use/application might impact an understanding of the limitations of such an idea.
